Summary: I bought this power supply as part of my first custom build PC. It worked perfectly... that is, until yesterday. Went to boot it up, and its just completely dead. To be sure it was the power supply and not anything else, I properly tested the power supply away from the other components (a special cheap method involving a paperclip being put into two of the mother board power connector pins that signals the PSU to turn on). Nothing. Dead as a rock.
Summary: Should not buy this product, if for any reason the customer service alone. The power supply that I got worked fine for about a month or two before it started shorting out sporadically and would often shut down my computer mid-use. When I attempted to contact the seller of the product through an email, hoping I had gotten a defective model which they would replace, I received no help or even any indication of notice.
Summary: Replaced my previous Raidmax Hybrid 630SS with the 730. After 6 years the 630 finally failed. Kill-A-Watt says line voltage is 120.6, 60Hz, and maximum wattage required during gaming on my system is 330 watts, so I know the PSU wasn't taxed. Replaced with a Raidmax Thunder 635, which has already lasted more than 6 hours.
Summary: Not worth the money. Out of a total of 8 power supplies, 3 melted down, and 1 died. That is a 50% failure rate. On a watt meter these units pull more power and amps than needed. You are better off spending a few more bucks and getting a 80+ certified power supply or ANY other type of power supply. I buy a LOT of power supplies, and this has to be one of the worst brand/model I have ever experienced.
Summary: I have gone through 2 faulty Antec power supplies, the second of which almost caught my computer on fire due to a known problem with their power supply. For the Raidmax I have to say I'm very impressed. I got it "next day", or Monday since I ordered it on a Saturday. Only cost me $5.99 for that due to Prime free trial! I love that it is modular, my case actually looks clean and professionally built.
Summary: Great Modular power supply. Love the expandability of the connectors and the fact that you have a push button to switch off the ambient light. Very easy to install and even easier to hook up accessories to it.
Summary: I bought this PSU to replace a Raidmax Hybrid 630W, which ended it 4 year life in a smoking, electrical smelling, blaze of glory. After 4 years of nearly non-stop usage I decided to replace it with another Raidmax product and ran across the Hybrid 730W. I didnt give it much thought, and at $67 and free 2-day shipping with amazon prime, I pulled the trigger.
