Summary: The cords are too short for a large case and require flipping the unit upside down in or to just barely reach. The 80 bronze rating also is not an attractive feature. The cooling fan felt flimsy and cheap. The led lighting is alright... You get what you pay for.
Summary: I bought the Kingwin Mach 1 to replace the Tagan ITZ PSU that conked out on me after four years of punishing use and was hopeful that it would measure up. After installing it into my PC, I started getting unexpected shutdowns... sometimes after only running for 2-3 minutes. I knew then I had a buggy PSU. The lights, modular cables, and quiet fan were wonderful features on this PSU. But, I think I got one that somehow got past QC as it never could keep my PC running.
Summary: Not all 1k watt power supplies are equal. After days of troubleshooting a power cycle problem with my new build, I yanked the 750w single rail power supply from my old computer and everything worked perfectly. This supposed 1k watt power supply couldn't handle it. Also came with the fan making noise from contact with something inside the power supply. No way I was going to listen to the train coming into the station for the next 3 years!
