Summary: It's a great company. Everything they make is solid. This PSU was no exception. i was pulling over 800 watts on a gold PSU and switch to this one. It dropped down to 714- 720. I would buy one again if the need was there.
Pros: Super efficient Lots of power Modular USA based tech support
Cons: Not enough peripheral molex connectors for my rig. Had to cut a SATA one and make my own for 2 extra 4 pin connectors
Summary: I always believed Corsair was nothing else than a name while other companies like Fractal Design and EVGA are producing power supplies cheaper and better. This PS is the perfect example. a similar product with a Corsair sticker will cost you 250$. After buying this and my XL R2, I can honestly claim that Fractal is now one of my favorite hardware maker.
Pros: -Price (200$ on sale), -80plus Platinum, -Able to power two 290x OC with a lot of components (3 HDD + 8 fans + a fan controller), -Design by a case maker (cable are the right length), -White
Pros: I purchased this PSU via Tiger Direct, rather than here, because they only had white. I had previously ordered the 800w from Newegg, also excellent. Before I had purchased this PSU I DID see this other 1 star review here. That's horrible that the guy lost his system AND that the first review for such a good product was 1 star. Fractal should have had better QC. But so far, after running this PSU for 3 days, my system is running very stably, not to mention it's almost ...
Summary: IMHO, the power supply is often underestimated and it is usually the cheapest part on a computer rig. So, buying the highest quality PSU possible should be top priority. I don't have much experience with Fractal but I know that they make great case and reviews are very positive for this PSU. Also, I want this particular PSU to match my Antec P280 White windowed case and it is perfect! It is too bad that there's no current white PCB motherboard. Can't have it all!
Pros: + Striking design (white PSU), great for windowed case, + Quality components, + Modular so, the PC looks cleaner (use cables to power your hardware), + Enough cables to power a loaded computer rig, + Quiet, the fan doesn't start until the computer load is over 500w
Summary: This is the Rolls Royce of power supplies; it does the same as all the rest but with elegance and style. The packaging made me feel like I was opening a quality box of chocolates and it left me unsure whether to put it in the chassis or eat it instead. The modular design and attention to detail in every aspect is impressive and well worth the money!
Summary: -Modularity is very well done, cabling snaps in and out very easily -Comes with many various cable lengths for SATA -Quiet, very very quiet -Came with zip ties and velcro for cable management -Well done product overall
Summary: Trying to build a monster computer? With a 1000W power supply like this bad boy you'll be off to a good start. You get everything you need in the box. It fits to most cases. Good luck with your build!
Summary: I have been using this power supply for a few months now and it is extremely silent, cool and being fractal design is very reliable. It is aesthetically pleasing either way you place it however i have the snowflake side up because that is the only way the 8 pin cable can reach the socket. Not a big problem though because i would of had it that way any way. Great PSU and i recommend fully.
