Cons: System randomly powering down at first build. Tested power supply with generic tester, and it was good - but of course a tester can't simulate load. Swapped PSU for a different one and all is good. Tried to put it back just to be sure and the system powers down every 20 mins or so. Looked closely and found cracks in the fan blades - not sure if that is related. RMA to Newegg (and not so happy about paying the $15 return shipping either... may use an online retailer wi...
Summary: I'd given it 5 eggs if it wasn't for the rebate issue, they there wasn't a rebate on this I would have bought a different higher rated one.
Pros: A power supply that works for a decent price.
Cons: Only reason I selected this were the good reviews and $10 rebate, rebate was declined by 4myrebate.com.saying that dated receipt wasn't included, which they scanned and posted online when they received the rebate form. They have no phone number and don't reply to emails.
Pros: I've purchased quite a few of these for repairs here and there at the shop. None of these power supplies have come back as defective. I have taken readings of all rails on multiple machines and all voltages are extremely stable, even under heavy load. This is a great power supply replacement for most simple desktops Highly recommended!
Summary: This is my first Enermax but not my last.. I bought it on sale and thought it was the best psu for the Money and the quality.. I was so right.. It was better than I expected and very very Quiet.
Pros: heavy construction, wires are connected well to plugs. Quietest PSU I have ever not heard. Very stable and good voltage readings. +- 10 percent accurate, Nice looks, up to new X87 Standards
Cons: Wires on Molex and others not wire tied together,
Summary: I would give them a chance, I think they might be some bargains to be had, check out the industry critics to see how they stack up.
Pros: Just a word for those who haven't heard of Enermax. The company has had a great reputation for many years until about 5 or 6 years ago, someone slipped a bunch of bad voltage regulators into their shipment and out went a lot of PS that blew up or sparked when turned on.
Cons: From the looks of the reviews, they are continuing their quality reputation, Stuff happens, and stuff goes on.
Summary: I Hate to say it but Newegg really dropped the ball and disappointed me on this 1. I ordered it Friday afternoon. And they didn't even ship it out of the warehouse till late Tuesday afternoon. I mean come on. I could understand shipping it out mid Monday or even Monday afternoon but waiting 2 Business days to ship out something ? I wasn't impressed and nearly went and bout a PSU at a local shop and returned this 1.
Pros: Cables are plenty long enough for my mid tower case to run the cables behind the motherboard tray for cable management. Powers all 7 drives and AMD Athlon X2 4200+ with 2GB ram nicely in my Debian file server.
Cons: only 2 of the cables are sleeved. And poor sleeving at that. The sata and molex are not sleeved. Molex connector at the end of the sata connectors makes cable management a bit of a pain.
Summary: I couldn't compare the actual power consumption against the old supply as it failed. I don't think its anything special, standby power for my system was 2.2 W. Power factor when running was .63 on 138 Watt draw.
Pros: nice long cables. Quality build. This supply is much more sturdy than the one its replacing. Looks good, feels solid and heavy. I've got a tower case with bottom mounted supply. The old one barely reached, especially the processor connector at the other end of the MOBO. This one reaches everything with room to make neat bundles.
Cons: Not modular, but in this price range it's not expected. Not high efficiency.
