Real sinewave for the price of simulated

Jacob K., Newegg
12 July 2011
  • Summary: Biggest UPS you can power from a standard wall outlet. I was considering running a 120V 20A or possibly 240V industrial outlet to the computer room, but I found out the opposite walls are on different circuits and dodged that bullet.
  • Pros: Features are fairly obvious from the description but things you might miss while casually browsing things in this price range: -Real sinewave for all the nice high efficiency/active PFC PSUs. -Upgrade slot for network management card -Coax for HTPC tuner protection
  • Cons: Heavy as heck and very dense (mind your back) but unavoidable with SLA batteries and power transformers.

  • Pros: -Can safely put out 950W of power for up to 5 min (Safety FACTOR) -It will tell you load, voltage, and a considerable number of other parameters. -It will run my computer for 50 min at a (200 Watt load) on a full charge. (This will decrease to 18 min or so @ 500 Watts load) -It is very power effi...
  • Cons: - It is VERY heavy as it has FOUR!! batteries in it rather than one like in the little home office ones. -Battery replacement cost can be kind of high -The LCD is difficult to rotate because it is attached with a short ribbon cable. You have to be very careful or you will break it! (If CyberPower...
