Pros: Easy to use, it beeps when the power goes out, and it comes with good monitoring software.
Cons: Only half of the unit is UPS, the other half is just surge protection. My unit does not keep my PC on when the power goes out. It worked well until 2 years after I bought it. It will cut power to the computer when the power goes out, but I can turn the computer back on and it works for a few minu...
Excerpt: Have this unit hooked up to a MacMini, 2.5" external raid 1 setup, and Netgear router as a personal cloud server. The unit gives my MacMini and external drive enough time to automatically shutdown, using the included USB cable & power management in Mavericks.
Pros: Easy To Install, Good Value, Highly Compatible, Quiet, Reliable
Cons: Every time I even think about playing a game, the increased power usage when running my computer registers as a power surge to this thing and completely shuts everything off. This thing is garbage... I sorely regret buying this
Excerpt: I use this to provide backup power for my satellite internet, wireless router and VOIP phone system. Occasionally, it also powers my laptop and external LCD. Works great and has more than ample reserves.
Pros: Easy To Install, Good Value, Highly Compatible, Quiet
Summary: Every time the power has gone out (which is anywhere from 2-5 times per week) this thing has kicked in and worked flawlessly. LED display is great. I could not be happier. Charge lasts longer than the specifications indicate.
Summary: It's a good buy for the price. Still have to spend a bit more money for something more feature-filled and robust, but for a-step-above-normal-home-use, it works.
Pros: One year out, and it still works as it should. I test it every so often with my ESXi 5.1 VM, and my various switches, and routers, and such, and it performs a clean shutdown every single time... with runtime to spare. This UPS runs at a constant 40-55% load.
Cons: However useful and functional the UPS may be, it's always let down by the software. Especially the terrible UI. Business, Personal, or VM appliance version. Doesn't matter.
