crappy psu for the price. get yourself a fully modular psu
7 October 2013
Summary: thought this would be a full modular, but this ends up being partial modular. the power connectors that come with this psu don't even reach long enough for my case. the corsair HX620 fitted perfectly before. Not impressed with this psu at all.
Summary: My biggest issue with this power supply is the quality of the cabling. It is very ridged, and difficult to run wires. I'm serious I'm a tech with 6 years experience, and these wires are stubborn! You could clean a drain with them!
Summary: I build a lot of computers and Corsair is my normal go-to power supply for builds. However, this PSU had a bad fan that rattled like a doomsday machine. I will buy Corsair products again but this PSU was a bummer.
Summary: Aside from it causing power failures and not lasting more than it should, it was a decent PSU for a limited time.
Pros: It looks nice, comes with plenty of connections, and the wires are sleeved in black, all of which are quite nice.
Cons: It isn't built to last. I have had mine for 4/1/2009 , a little over five years and it's already causing power failures do to broken/melted components. One of the 24-pin connectors is missing a pin, and one of the 8-pin connectors melted and broke off. I have since been forced to switch back to m...
Summary: They make GREAT Memory !!! Not so sure about the quality of workmanship or materials that go into their power supplies yet .
Pros: Nice strong power supply , wish it had enough connectors for 3 SLI cards.
Cons: Cheap connectors . One 4-pin Molex connector had one wire not even connected , and one of the SATA power connecter's has cracked apart WHILE on the hard drive in use . Discovered these problems when I went to add another Video card , and add a DVD rom to the tower . Was surprised when I opened it...
Summary: I do not trust the Corsair brand because of this experience.
Pros: In theory its good.
Cons: In practice I had a hard drive failure, and then another and another before I realized that this was the culprit. The fact that it worked just well enough for me not to realize that it was the underlying problem has caused me much trouble. It would have been better had it failed outright. Many ot...
Pros: Very quiet, does what a good power supply should do.
Cons: I've been having sporadic computer shutdowns that took me awhile to diagnose and trace to this power supply. My build is: 2500k radeon 6970 8gb ram The shutdowns occur during heavy load although this power supply is supposedly capable of handling quad-SLI.
Summary: i actually RMA'd it back to Corsair. received a replacement without any hassle from them. the replacement PSU was silent again. the same symptoms came back after a few weeks again. it seems like the TX850 simply does not agree with my system. time to look for something completely different.
Pros: -Looks and feels sturdy -Nice presentation with the velvet bag but Im buying a power supply, not a bag.
Cons: -After a week or two of normal and silent operation, a propeller-like noise emits from the PSU whenever the computer is even in the slightest of load. When playing games it will make the noise all the time until I exit the game. -Computer is shutting down randomly without any power, will reboot o...
