Summary: I have to say ... I'm very surprised to see the Corsair TX850W do so well in terms of performance and stability. Using only high quality components inside, the build quality and construction is nothing short of excellent. What's more, it passed our
test with flying colours during our full/heavy load test. As far as voltage readings is concerned for +3.3V, +5V and +12V ... the TX850W was extremely stable, with very little fluctuations.
Pros: - 850W output, - Very good quality, - Excellent stability, - Powerful single +12V rail @ 70A, - SLI and Crossfire Ready, - Certified 80+, - 5 Years warranty
Cons: - So much competition, - I prefer a modular cable management system
Excerpt: 1 Flares 1 Flares × KitGuru loved the Corsair AX series of power supplies, their class leading efficiency and attention to detail earned them our highest awards. Today we are looking at an update to their more affordable TX series. The TX V2 range is designed for enthusiasts who need a high quality power supply but who don’t need modular cables that can be disconnected from the main unit.
Conclusion: The first words that spring to mind are WOW WOW WOW. The TX850 is really that good. During room temperature testing, the voltage stability was excellent with all rails staying extremely close to their ideal values. Even when placing the unit in some nasty crossloading situations, it just wouldn't flinch and continued to provide rock solid voltages on the most important rails.
Pros: Extremely stable rails even at full load @ 50c., Efficiency bordering on 90% at medium loads., Great looks., Plenty of cables & support for all hardware., Performed really well in our cross load tests., High quality internal components.
