Great company, horrible product.

Steven A., Newegg
5 January 2016
  • Summary: I bought this PSU three months ago at Best Buy to replace the first one I had from a couple years ago. Both have/had whined and make absurdly loud noises... Website and the products box claimed noiseless operation under certain loads. The load they intended to be noiseless means off.
  • Pros: - Looks cool, matches blue, white, and red LED's with a switch. - Comes with enough wire length for even the largest cases.
  • Cons: - Fan spins back and forth an inch and refuses to make a full revolution. - It chirps, whines, and squeals nearly constant.

Two units in 2 weeks!

Eric P., Newegg
5 November 2015
  • Summary: I have bought refurbished stuff from Newegg before and they worked fine. This is my first time experiencing this with a product from Newegg. This won't deter me from buying from them since they have some of the best deals around and they do offer friendly customer service.
  • Pros: Only good thing I have to say is the customer service for the returns were very helpful.
  • Cons: I had purchased this a couple weeks past and the first unit would not past post. Checked all connections and rechecked. So I sent it back the same day I asked for a replacement (big mistake). Received second unit about a week and half later. Same result, wouldn't past post. Unreal! So I called CS...

Died after a month

Jonathan L., Newegg
3 March 2015
  • Summary: Currently using my, now antique, Thermaltake 430w PSU as a backup, which has been in 4 rigs through it's life. I would rate a bit higher because the RMA process was fairly simple, but my problem is that not only was the original PSU deemed "defective", then returned and "refurbished", but it is now...
  • Pros: LED color and change option was cool The intermittent fan was nice and quiet Had enough juice for what I needed
  • Cons: Died after a month of use. It first started cutting off after several hours, then fewer hours, then eventually about 10 minutes. Had to RMA it, and I'm still waiting for the "new" one to return.

10 February 2015
  • Pros: ..
  • Cons: fan never turns on but I'm guessing that may be because it is not getting that hot.. one of the rails that powers sata will only work with one thing connected to it so I can only run one hard drive....

DOA

Anonymous, Newegg
15 January 2015
  • Summary: The return help that I got from customer service was good but buying this has been very annoying to deal with.
  • Pros: Long cords, cool blue led fan.
  • Cons: not modular leaving a bunch of unnecessary cords, also had to RMA it within the first day of opening the box. It shuts off after six seconds.

DOA

John G., Newegg
14 January 2015
  • Pros: Heavy. Looks nice. Lights up.
  • Cons: DOA. Powers on for an instant, then immediately shuts itself off. I'm back to my old PSU - and onboard video - until I can get a replacement. Note that other Corsair refurb PSU reviews show this to be a very common problem. Memo to Corsair management: selling dead PSUs is NOT the way you gain and...
