Solid PSU does what you ask it to

David C., Newegg
14 July 2015
  • Summary: Corsair is great across the board, and if their product does fail you, call them first instead of writing a bad review, nothing is perfect.
  • Pros: No issues here, plug n play so to speak. I enjoy the look inside the case too. I was worried that a non modular PSU would leave lots of wires everywhere, it wasn't hard to hid the unused wires.
  • Cons: none, works great.

Bad Unit

Mark b., Newegg
14 July 2015
  • Summary: Great deal, if it worked.
  • Pros: Excellent capacity for the price. Looks nice. Packaged well.
  • Cons: I set up a PC, using individually purchased parts, for my parents, who live two hours away. I put the PC together at home and transported it to my parents' house. I set the PC up on Sunday, and today, Tuesday, the power button does nothing. The PC doesn't power up. No lights. No fans move. Tried ...

Great deal

Wenying C., Newegg
10 July 2015
  • Pros: Very solid feeling PSU, does not feel cheap at all cables were covered with a sheathing which was great considering the price i bought this at Finish on the unit looked highly professional Felt like it would be a great PSU newegg gave RMA
  • Cons: The box that this PSU came in had very little to no padding and there just happened to be a dented corner from the package being dropped in the shipping process and upon further inspection an edge of the PSU was damaged. I did not get the chance to build my pc and i requested a refund from newegg...

Couldn't be happier

Craig M., Newegg
7 July 2015
  • Summary: If you don't mind spending the few extra bucks, you could get the modular version.
  • Pros: Bought it in December of 2012 and it's been working great ever since! It powers my evga gtx 660 ti with no problems at all. Great value and reliability for the money.

Classic power

Adam C., Newegg
5 July 2015
  • Pros: I've used many Corsair CX units over the years, and I have yet to be disappointed. Stable power for basic systems. I don't know that I'd put a full gaming rig on a CX unit for an extended amount of time, but it's perfect for lower power systems were you want something that will just work.
  • Cons: None that I can think of. It's not priced at modular/80+ gold/etc, so that can't be a con.

Awful

Anonymous, Newegg
14 June 2015
  • Pros: None at all
  • Cons: All of the possible cons for powersupplies. I got all my parts ready all excited to build, took my time, finished, smiled. Hit the power button and oh great. It all boots up for about two seconds and then everything shuts off. The total wattage for my build was 428w this is 500w should be able to...

User Review

Cory M., Newegg

  • Summary: I purchased this list of items below to rebuild my home sever that had a HDD failure. I decided it was time for new technology. I basically replaced everything except for the case (an old emachines desktop case).
  • Pros: Inexpensive, 80Plus Bronze, Haswell compatible

Only lasted five days

Molly C., Newegg
6 June 2015
  • Summary: I received this power supply on Tuesday and assembled my new PC. It is now Saturday morning and my computer randomly shut off while I was using it and would not return to life. After swapping parts around to troubleshoot for about an hour I figured out it was the power supply.
  • Pros: Semi-modular cables were nice.
  • Cons: Failed after six days.
