Summary: Great PSU and great customer service. It started randomly shutting down after about 6 months. I changed it for another Corsair PSU I had laying around and the problem stopped. I filed a claim on Corsair's website and they gave me a shipping label to send my failing PSU back. Once they received the old one they shipped me a new one no questions asked. It has been running strong ever since (about a year and a half).
Summary: Used this for my first build and loved it. Very intuitive connections. Completely modular. Decided to test its output by connecting 5 external hard drives, a printer, a scanner and 3 flash sticks to my newly built system (in short connected something to each USB 2.0, USB 3.0, and FireWire ports). Not even a blip or a hiccough! Excellent PSU.
Summary: I like to test any new stuff i get in regards to a new rig build and I am not a loyal "brand name fan boy" I could careless it's all about quality, performance and how long it last... had this babe for over 4 months and works well still and quiet.... if you aren't about getting a high end CPU or GPU then this PSU is enough to handle things.
Summary: This is the first PSU I purchased where the cables are detachable. This was great for keeping my cords clean inside the PC. I had another Corsair from a few years back that didn't have this nifty little feature and I had these massive cords that were almost impossible to move around and make cooling the case easier.
Summary: I spent half an hour writing a multiple-paragraph review that I have decided to sum up with this one sentence: Whether you're already a loyal supporter of another brand or considering building your first computer, this PSU's (power supply unit) quality will impress you.
Summary: This is an older model of this PSU which is exactly what I wanted. The newer model has a different layout for the modular cable sockets. I wanted the older model to have for a spare so I wouldn't have to completely rewire the computer if the PSU in it now should ever die. If you are building a new computer, then you should order the newer model.
Summary: I bought this item back in January 2012, after my previous PSU died in less than a year. So far it has been performing wonderfully. The detachable cables are a really nice feature, as they help keep the case cool. As for noise levels, it seems to be pretty comparable to all the other four PSUs I've had in my case over the years. As everyone else noted, it came extremely well packaged with no scratches/dents/etc on the device, or even the box.
Summary: I bought this PSU from Newegg because they had it on sale for $35 off, but I wanted to make sure I got my review of it up on Amazon. I got it to power my new custom built desktop, and let me say this is a great PSU, made of high quality parts. It is a semi-modular PSU not a full modular one, meaning the 12x2 PWR Cable and the 4x2 PWR Cable are hardwired to the PSU, but the rest of the cables are removable making it possible to only have what cables you need plugged in...
