Excellent

Adam B., Newegg
9 September 2015
  • Summary: Maybe people are just getting dumber, but when you look at the reviews for Corsair's older stuff and compare it to the new, it worries me.
  • Pros: Everything. I've had this power supply for almost 6 years now and haven't had a single problem with it. It has been through multiple builds without issue. Thank you (JonnyGURU) for recommending it.
  • Cons: Nothing to see here.

It finally died. RIP

Bryan L., Newegg
8 April 2014
  • Summary: Thank you Corsair for a solid PSU. One year longer than warranty.
  • Pros: It worked solidly for 6 years through two PC builds. Never made strange noises and always had enough juice for my 560Ti and other components. Glad I got it and am going Corsair again because of this.
  • Cons: It couldn't last forever.

Stong, reliable PSU. Good buy.

Jack B., Newegg
8 June 2013
  • Summary: Need a 500W PSU, that's not modular? Buy this.
  • Pros: Performs its job well. Hasn't died since purchase date over 4 years ago.
  • Cons: Lots of cables that are quite stiff, which isn't a good thing if you don't have a cable management system in your computer.

Noisy Grinding FAN

Steven C., Newegg
10 September 2012
  • Pros: Nothing
  • Cons: After only 2 years of use this second one started to sound like a Meat Grinder. High Frequency Noise also a negative. Probably a bad Bearing in the Fan and component in the PSU. Changing to another Brand.

Displeased

Julian R., Newegg
30 November 2011
  • Summary: The unit does perform well. I believe I simply hit an unlucky card and was given a dud. More than the failing unit (which is still functioning, just with the whine of that Cap making me wonder of its lifetime) it's the methods of Corsair that bug at me. Hence this unit gets 4 eggs.
  • Pros: Seemingly sturdy design, plenty of power for the rig I'd planned, quiet fan, mail-in rebate was nice.
  • Cons: It is still working, however very shortly after installing it the unit, it developed the distinctive whine/ring of a failing capacitor. Given that Corsair wanted quite a bit of cash for me to ship it back for a replacement (cash that I did not and do not have), I haven't been able to take them up...

  • Summary: Recommend to everyone, however you should strongly consider the 650+ models if running in SLI/Crossfire configuration.
  • Pros: Easy to install, worked like a charm. Runs Super Quiet. Cheap.

User Review

George S., Newegg
18 June 2011
  • Summary: After 3 1/2 years of heavy use it failed. You would think I would be upset or angry, but no. I felt I got good use out of it and I think it was the heavy use that made it fail. Like one review said it's too expensive to send it in so I got a replacement and hopefully it will last until I go to the...
  • Pros: Inexpensive and it seems to be a good unit. Quiet and was very reliable up until a couple of days ago.
  • Cons: None really. It was an excellent unit while it lasted.
