Summary: I bought Corsair VX 550W in 05/08 based on good reviews. It failed in 08/09. It simply will not turn on. I replaced one component in my PC at a time and found it is the power supply's fault. Corsair RMA replaced it for a new VX 550W. It lasted almost two years. By this point, I have played StarCraft 2 for months. It was fine until one day, it will not power the GeForce GTX 9800 when playing StarCraft 2. The GPU power LED will turn red instead of the normal green.
Summary: Got this power supply to replace the little 300w supply that came in my computer. It seems very well put together and had plenty of cords. So far it has run VERY quiet. I can't even hear it and my PC is on top of my desk right now.
Summary: Just as a quick review, the Corsair 550VX is a terrific power supply. Last summer I replaced it in a family members system that had a terrible/inefficient little PSU. About the 550VX; it's efficient, well made & quite, with a strong 12V rail ...and a great Corsair warranty. You really can't go wrong with Corsair & Seasonic, their industry leading. The stability gained from a good PSU is immeasurable,..its key to your system!
Summary: I love this supply. Corsair is a great brand too. They have a good warranty and the quality of their products is worth the slightly higher price. The installation wasn't terrible and it took only 15 minutes to get up and running. I will definitely buy Corsairs in the future. It fit my HP P2664Y computer perfectly.
Summary: I was a little hesitant at first as I've used the Cooler Master Silent Pro's for most of my builds. I was building on a bit more of a budget for this machine but still wanted a quiet and fairly efficient power supply. It was easy to install (not sure I've run into any PSU that is hard to install) and has plenty of connectors to do all but probably most rigorous of builds. Most of all it is very quiet.

Summary: Built my first box, using Corsair 550, Series 80.Does what it says, all indicators show rated voltages. Intel board (DH55HC ) shows temps are in range @ 111(F) or 44(C). I was impressed by the MALE/FEMALE setup of connections. Worried I wouldn't be able to connect 'x' hardware, Loved where one side of the connector was male on the reverse was female NICE Feature to me. Installed in a ThermalTake perfect matchup. Glad to recommend it.
Summary: I've been a Corsair customer for several years now and I have to say they build some of the most reliable hardware around, from memory to motherboards. This Power Supply is no different. The packaging was professional, prompt, with everything in order. It took about 30 minutes to install into my tower, and worked without any hitches immediately. It's been four months now and there have yet to be any problems, and I do not foresee any to come.
