Summary: After hearing all the hype and good reviews for Corsair products, I purchased this 600wt Psu for my new gaming PC. What a mistake! The one I received sizzled out after only three weeks of mild use. I always base the quality of a company's products on my first purchase, and Corsair just crashed and burned in my book. I'll never purchase another one of their products (and to think that I almost trusted Corsair w/ my water-cooling).
Summary: PSU works great, up until you hear the high pitched squeel that drives you to want to murder something. Since I was using it for an HTPC, the high pitched squeel was completely unacceptable, RMAing it and getting a completely different PSU.
Summary: Agree with others squealing buzz noise almost constant - worse when in sleep mode or shut-down state and still plugged into power source. I purchased a few of these unfortunately for the price (almost free with rebate) though I think I would avoid this brand of PSU in the future. Strangely I have a few of the 400 w units from the prior year that are nothing like this.
Summary: I have always went with cheaper power supplies and never had a problems. However caught up in everyone telling me you need a 80 plus cert psu i spent a bit more to get a corsair. They also have the best rating. It lasted 5 days and stopped working. I have build over 20 computers and this is the second time i have ever had a psu go out on me. I had to put in my old 30 dollor 420w psu till my new one arives that has lasted for about 2 years now.
Summary: Ordered device shipped quick enough, but when I got it, I had to leave town for work and when I got back and tried to install the unit I found it was DOA, unfortunately for me it was outside of the return window. So I ate the 45 bucks for this POS. So much for the saying "you get what you pay for" this unit is more than many others and had some promise to be one of the better units with its "80 plus certified" turns out is was 100% certified junk.
Summary: The fan on the unit is quiet but it had the most obnoxious high-pitched coil whine right out of the box that drove me and my dogs insane. Just researched it, and dozens of others are complaining about it on Newegg as well. Can not recommend, unless you're deaf.
Summary: Dont buy Corsair. I bought this PSU before 4 months and now smoke comes out like my PC is on fire. Contacted their support for service. They said there is no service in India and I have to send this to Hong Kong and they will look into it. It costs well over 1 K for that and they wont pay that fee. Support is horrible and you just have to through it if it doesn't work.
