Solid Power supply

Anonymous, Newegg
1 June 2015
  • Summary: Used with System board Asus X-99a and Antec Twelve Hundred V3 Black Steel ATX Full Tower Power supply fit fine in the case - no issues. The packaging was interesting, comes in a faux velvet bag for the power supply and with extra stuff like a pouch with a Velcro flap to hold all the extra cables in...
  • Pros: Great power supply, no issues so far after 31 days of use.
  • Cons: Minor quibble, the fan on the power supply shuts off on its own. Sure it does, save power, noise and wear n tear but wow that is scary.

It's not load at all!

Brian L., Newegg
4 February 2015
  • Summary: I'm running an AsRock Z97 Extreme6 - i5-4690K overclocked - 16 Gigs DDR3 2400 - three SSD in a RAID 0 - WD 1T SataIII HDD - 2 power hungry ATI Radeon R9 270X video cards crossfired - Sound card and multiple big fans - with all that this thing rarely even kicks the fan on!
  • Pros: Plenty of power, well made, love the flat cables, they bend and move anywhere I wanted them to and I think they are much cleaner looking than round cables. Plenty long enough for my bottom mount Antec Twelve Hundred Case. Quiet quiet quiet! Even when the fan spins up the noise level isn't anythin...
  • Cons: Other than it's not free I can't think of a single con - I've been building custom PC's for 15 yrs and I don't know what the big fuss is about the fan noise, it's nothing that's off the hook or totally out of the ordinary, I have an Antec 900 High Output that makes more noise than this thing!

Excellent PSU

DAMIEN V., Newegg
14 January 2015
  • Pros: This is the best PSU I've had in quite some time. I purchased it back in 2013. My PC has been on for almost 24/7 since I got the power supply. It's nice, it's quiet, has a 7 year warranty and does it's job. Hopefully Corsair will maintain its quality builds when I purchase a new PSU.
  • Cons: It wasn't free.

  • Pros: -Modular -POWER!!!!!!!!! (Marty McFly should have had this thing)
  • Cons: -Honestly none only power-supply I use for builds now.

Seems to be working

Michael R., Newegg
4 December 2014
  • Summary: Only 90% modular, the default cables are 24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU, and 2 PCI-E 6+2 pin connectors... This didn't bother me though (nor should it most people) because anyone purchasing a 1050w PSU will most likely use these. Also, it came with another modular cable for the CPU connector...
  • Pros: - Modular - Good cable shielding - Very, very quiet - Comes in a fancy bag... though I don't know when I'd need to use the bag again. - All PCI-E cables are 6+2 pin
  • Cons: None to speak of (yet)

Great power supply

Woodburn A., Newegg
4 December 2014
  • Summary: Use this in a 24/7 high end DVR which writes to 13 drives constantly. Clean, stable, power is critical and this PSU handles it well.
  • Pros: Lots of connector options, shuts it's own fan off when under low load, quiet when fan is on, over 1000 watts of power
  • Cons: Like almost all power supplies I've come across it needs more sata connectors. Had to go the molex-to-sata route to get all of my hard drives plugged in.

1st haswell Power sup

Aaron B., Newegg
19 November 2014
  • Summary: I am a believer that 850 watt is plenty for anything. I went a little further due to the 2 R9's. I think I would of been safe having a 850 in this series if they made it or something close. Anyhow its very very nice.
  • Pros: Wow is it working?!! The fan rarely comes on. No heat no hick up, no bumps in the road on this bad boy. Here is the Lay out for you and you decide. MSI Gaming 5 mother board Crucial M.2 SSD 128 gig WD Red 1 tera Seagate Momentus 700gig Intel i7-4790K 2X MSI R9 290X Lightning Corsair Dominator 160...
