Great PSU. Not quiet all the time.

  • Summary: You don't need a 1050W power supply. Get out of here. My system: i7 4770k cooled w/ Corsair H110 GTX 770 cooled by Arctic Accelero Hybrid II-120 16GB DDR3 1600 120GB Intel 530 2 x 1TB Caviar Black RAID0 1 x 2TB Caviar Green Full power draw under load: ~250W. Yeah. Go get yourself an AX860 at most.
  • Pros: I've been running the HX series of power supplies since I bought my first HX1000W in 2009. Since then, I've had one issue with the power supply where Corsair immediately sent me a replacement which ended up being the updated HX1050 model. Since then I've had one more (FREE) replacement (not due t...
  • Cons: Zero RPM mode is completely silent at low-end loads, which is great. This works well for the RM450 I have in my server which is quiet and fan-less 100% of its uptime, I have never seen the fan turn on nor have I heard how loud it could be. The HX1050, on the other hand, is LOUD. My newly built co...

Good as they come

Aaron F., Newegg

  • Summary: Again, I apologize to Corsair if it was my fault for the said things above in the Cons section and if it was, I really am sorry. Other then that, it has powered my entire system and I absolutely love their ram. Matches my tower as much as my build. So go team on that one.
  • Pros: High power output and works. Its a powersource, I don't exactly track these things like I do with RAM and Processors.
  • Cons: There was one thing, I did have some trouble with it when installing my GPU where when I turned it on, the power through the entire PC would flutter and I would turn it off and unplug it as it continued fluttering. I hope it did not damage my system. I am not worried about moving parts, just powe...

  • Summary: This is a great PSU and I really have no serious complaints. The only issue I have is that occasionally the fan seems to spin up loudly for no reason, but this doesn't really bother me.
  • Pros: -Quiet (mostly) -Modular cables are well made and long -Smaller than other similar PSUs
  • Cons: -Fan spin ups under load (and sometimes not under load) CAN be annoying -There is a capacitor whine under initial load, but it goes away after a few moments.

Great power supply

  • Summary: Great little unit. Very quiet, had to look twice when I turned it on for the first time... "Is this thing on...?" Plenty of modular cables supplied. I recently purchased a lot of Corsair parts for a new PC. So far I have not been disappointed.

Great performance, Great price

  • Summary: Bought this as an upgrade for my computer. It was a great deal at a great price. It is completely modular so you don't have to have a bunch of extra cords stuffed somewhere inside the computer making it cramped with cords. Highly recommend!

nice but very loud.

  • Pros: Seems very solid and well built. Love the modular design. price is decent also.
  • Cons: Way louder than my old corsair CMPSU-1000HX that I replaced. Its louder than my gpu at 100%. I can live with it. It just makes me wonder with the fan running so high, will it cause it to go out faster.

  • Summary: Easy to use. Seems to work as specified. Wish there was a better selection of plug-ins to handle older style dongles

  • Summary: Great PSU, Great feel, Great price. Those sleeved cables, nah, get individually sleeved, a lot more flexible. Put blame on the GPU or the PSU, because right now a lot of people have this problem and they just blame each other.
  • Pros: Fans don't turn on until a low to medium load(I think 60%?). When they do turn on they're a little loud, but the distance between my ear and the case is less than a foot so I can hear everything. I like that it's modular, I thought it was fully modular. Must have misread... I only have 3 cables p...
  • Cons: I expected it to be fully modular especially since I was going to buy the RM1000 which is fully modular but was out of stock for 2 weeks till i got fed up, and bought this one, which according to PRICE and the way Corsair PSU's are bracketed on their website, HX series fall below AX series, and R...

Great PSU

Daniel Lee, Amazon
1 November 2013
  • Summary: This is a fine power supply, except that I had a few issues with it. It was faultt on arrival, so I had to request an RMA, and that took forever. Other than that, it is one of the best power supplies I have used.

It's Great, I Got It Again

Jeffrey R., Newegg
4 September 2013
  • Summary: My PSU was maybe running for 3-6 hours a day during the week, about 15+ during the weekend, sometimes staying on for the entire weekend. But towards it's end days, it never showed any sign of weakness. It was just that one day..it wouldn't turn on. Sad? I'd like to think so.
  • Pros: This is a fantastic PSU. Plenty of power for plenty of fun. Was more then I really needed, but at most I probably was running it around 45-55% during it's whole life. Now for cons.
  • Cons: 1.5 Years later.. While it has been an outstanding PSU, it's life with me was run short when me and my unannounced someone was planing to do some gaming. Mind you she is new to gaming so was excited. But wait! My computer wouldn't turn on...so i took her PSU (power of ownership, it's really mine)...
