Great, until recently?

Kris W., Newegg
1 June 2015
  • Pros: Did its job. Recent power outage caused some problem. PC boots, but case fans will not. Checking with Corsair support to figure out if it's the PSU or the case. Owned for over 2 years.
  • Cons: Cables are a bear to deal with. Not very maneuverable.

Fan Died

Anonymous, Newegg
26 August 2014
  • Pros: Love having a modular PSU for the sake of cable management. More than enough power. Just as easy to install as any other PSU. After the fan died I didn't get it fixed and it still works fine haha.
  • Cons: Fan died after a week.

Coil whine noise

Justin P., Newegg
23 May 2013
  • Summary: Newegg was great and is cross shipping a unit. Otherwise, so far, it works great. Just need ear plugs at the moment.
  • Pros: Generally nice quality...
  • Cons: Unless you get a model that has coil whine noise, something that can randomly afflict these units. Something of this calibur and price, coming from Corsair, shouldn't have this issue.

Difficulty with 8 pin connectors and GA-Z77X-UP7 mobo

Rafael A., Newegg
2 November 2012
  • Summary: I'm not sure if I have the proper PSU for my motherboard. I'm hoping a Corsair representative might read this and direct me to the proper channels: I recently purchased a GA-Z77X-UP7 mobo and Corsair Professional Series Gold AX850 psu. The motherboard requires (2) 8 pin connectors.
  • Pros: Looks great in my Cooler Master Cosmos II case. Very well crafted.
  • Cons: No diagrams or pictures in the manual to ensure the cables are installed properly. I recently purchased a GA-Z77X-UP7 mobo requiring (2) 8 pin connectors and am having problems deciding if I'm using the proper connectors.

Worked well for a year

Tell H., Newegg
20 October 2012
  • Summary: If you have good luck with it congrats, but I am out around $200 when I could have spent $60 and been fine.
  • Pros: I really like this PSU, and it worked really well for a year or so so. The fact that it was modular made it very good for cable management.
  • Cons: I'm not saying that its corsairs problem that my psu died suddenly but it does make me upset that I bought a rather expensive power supply and it died after only one year.
