800W? Yea Right

Andrew M., Newegg
11 February 2015
  • Summary: So I went cheap I admit it and paid the price. It didn't last 3 months before shutting down my PC when any load was put on it. When I did a reboot my MB, an ASUS Z97-AR would warn about a surge in the PSU.
  • Pros: It powers up my PC. It's modular.
  • Cons: It can't even supply 300W. It's junk.

So far so good

Andrew M., Newegg
15 November 2014
  • Summary: My old OCZ 700W PSU died so I picked up one of these locally. I have another Coolmax 600W that's been running an ESX server for about a year and I thought I'd give this model a try. So far the PSU has held up well with zero issues.
  • Pros: Quiet and Stable. Plenty of connections. Partially modular. Supports Crossfire.
  • Cons: Durability to be determined.

Bryant T., Newegg
30 August 2014
  • Summary: have run this now for a year .. zero issues, good price point .. ... msi gaming 970, gigabyte 7800 series 4 gig video, dual tuner tv tuner - fm radio card.. 8 gig G Skill rip jaws 1600.
  • Pros: Set and forget.. partial modular - reduces clutter so you only use what you need.. cables wrapped and plenty long enough for full tower case, even routed behind motherboard (Azza Solano 1000 case).. connectors nice quality, and all I'll ever need for this build. zero issues since installed.
  • Cons: wasn't installed as my first choice.. old power supply spiked and killed half my rig...

Doesn't work whatsoever

Aaron T., Newegg
21 August 2014
  • Summary: PSU cannot hold steady power for over two minutes. My PC shuts down before I can even set up the BIOS. The box doesnt come with any screws or even a manual. The braided cables are messy and look awful. Please do not buy this, get a quality unit.
  • Pros: Absolutely nothing
  • Cons: Doesn't work at all.

Look elsewhere

Paul K., Newegg
20 February 2014
  • Pros: Specs on paper look good for the price.
  • Cons: Used it for about 2 hrs to install some software on a new pc build. Loud pop and the smell of burnt wires just as I was finishing up for the night. I knew after reading the reviews I was rolling the dice. Looks like I rolled snake eyes. RMA'd it (Newegg was awesome) and spend a little extra for a...

stable power

Jason R., Newegg
3 December 2013
  • Pros: Still strong and stable after 18 months. Quiet, modular, efficient. Most cables were a perfect length for a full atx tower.
  • Cons: 12v 4 pin MoBo connector wasn't long enough to route from bottom mount PSU through the right panel cable management system in my full atx tower without pulling tight. Had to buy a 6" extension to relieve the tension. If that cable was 2" longer I would have given 5 stars.

DO NOT BUY

David P., Newegg
3 July 2013
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: This power supply just won't work right. The one I received worked fine for a few days before suffering from surge problems, and now causes my system to crash when doing high performance tasks.
