Only Brand I Buy

Allen B., Newegg
14 April 2015
  • Summary: I've always bought Coolmax PSU's, but I haven't bought very many... which is my point: One PSU from Coolmax per each rig I have ever constructed, and they all still run, and perfectly at that. No whining after a year, or four or seven. No odd sounds. No blown capacitors.
  • Pros: Simple design, big fan (which means quiet for the amount of air it moves), no lights to distract, or waste energy, or wear out. Dead silent, I'm telling you right now. This thing powers up my light rig with ease, and I plan on keeping it when I upgrade everything else. Coolmax PSU's are future-pr...

Megan N., Newegg
21 December 2013
  • Pros: quiet strong power
  • Cons: cables are a little short, barely reached to the top of my atx mid tower. wish it was modular and wish the cables were covered. each set of cables were zip tied. also wish there was an extra sata.

Died After 4 Months

Nicholas M., Newegg
28 August 2013
  • Summary: I did not purchase from New Egg. I just sent CoolMax a warranty replacement request. They have a one year warranty, so it I expect no issues. I have used CoolMax power supplies before and they've always been reliable and stable for the price. 1 Egg because it died so fast.
  • Pros: Ran super quiet. Stayed cool. Braided cover over the power cable.
  • Cons: It died today, only 130 days after installing it. The cables are a little short. Everything reached on the uATX board it was powering, but I like a little more slack in the cables

Donna V., Newegg
10 August 2013
  • Summary: Works fine for me.
  • Pros: Cheap, Effective, Decent Power. I bought this for a $330 gaming pc I decided to build and it handles the job just fine powering a GeForce GT 630 and an AMD Phenom II X2 550BE plus an internal HD/DVD+CD Burner and a USB 3 PCI-E 1x w/ Molex 4-pin.
  • Cons: Well, My PSU did NOT come with the sleeve on the power connector.. just a cheap plastic tie (lol) but that's only aesthetic.

Good Budget PSU

Phillip B., Newegg
4 August 2013
  • Summary: Using with an older Phenom X4 machine running an Nvidia GTX460
  • Pros: Great price for powering single PCI-E video card, I am using a GTX460 Quiet cooling fan
  • Cons: Cords are short, I had to actually extend the main power wire for the motherboard by splicing it and soldering/heatshrinking a longer wire to it.

Great Value Power Supply

John B., Newegg
6 April 2013
  • Summary: Great power supply for those with mATX gaming setups, or those who just need a little more oomph than your average 400w power supply. I wouldn't push it to its maximum, nor should you with any power supply constantly.
  • Pros: Great power supply for those who need a little more juice than just the basics. People tend to bash this power supply, however if you use it as intended it will do the job sufficiently. So, no don't be angry if it blows up when trying to power your SLI GTX 680 setup...it clearly wasn't ever desig...
  • Cons: None. Works as intended.

Good PSU So Far!

Aaron D., Newegg
21 February 2013
  • Summary: In the end, I'm thoroughly enjoying my purchase. All of my system components idle around 27-35 degrees, and all games I run work good. I would rate the egg 5/5, but the cord issue was an annoyance. Minus one egg for that, and the whopping 4 lead to an AMAZING deal for this power supply.
  • Pros: I bought this PSU on a whim of an extremely low budget, knowing that there are many power supplies roaming the market which are mislabeled, can't handle full loads properly, run very hot, and are dangerous to your other components. Suffice to say, I don't see any of that so far! It's run every ga...
  • Cons: For the fantastic things that you do get for such a great deal, there are always a few nubs to run into. Nobody ever wants to hear the short end of the cons, so I'll be detailed. - Cords are fairly short. This was a bit annoying to work around running my ATX 12V power to my CPU since the cord hap...

Patrick C., Newegg
2 November 2012
  • Summary: not worth the heart ache to save a few bucks, now i gotta return it
  • Pros: it's cheep....
  • Cons: i bought this for a friend trying to build a pc on a low budget. It looked good after recieving it, but while trying to instal it i realised that the wired are all far to short for anything but a micro atx case and a really small motherboard...the power cable streaches only to about 1 inch from t...
