Fire sale

Ryan N., Newegg
10 January 2014
  • Pros: Worked for a while
  • Cons: After owning this psu for over a year it started destroying my pc, it took out one of my ram, my cd/DVD burner drive completely melted, and hard drive caught on fire I opened case and blew it out to salvage the drive but basically if you don't want to burn your house down spend the money and buy better brand.

Does the job just fine.

Alexander J., Newegg
4 September 2013
  • Summary: All in all, I have no serious complaints about it. It does what I need it to. It has powered my gaming PC for over 2 years now. The only thing I don't like is that it has LEDs and I am not a fan of the whole "fancy lights in your PC" thing.
  • Pros: -Not obnoxiously loud
  • Cons: -Not a fan of the LEDs

Great Power fo Price

InvaderGUI, TigerDirect.com
26 March 2013
  • Summary: I have had this PS in my system for about 3 weeks now and it has performed exactly as it should. I upgraded from a Diablotek 550w that I had burned out. This is the 4th power supply for my system and the first over 550w. I had a little problem at first and thought the PS was DOA but after reseating the main 20+4 connecter all was good and the PS fired up nice and quietly. Gonna get a second for wife's PC soon.

  • Pros: none.
  • Cons: It's not really modular at all, DOA. Don't bother, should've listened to the reviews.

Awesome PSU

Robin B., Newegg
12 June 2012
  • Summary: Not a super high quality psu, but for the money it's deserves 5 or at least 4 eggs.
  • Pros: It's quiet and the blue led looks great. Plus it's semi modular which is nice.
  • Cons: Not fully modular.

DOA

BallsUSMC, TigerDirect.com
15 February 2012
  • Summary: This was delivered to me DOA. A large coil of wopper wires supposed to be on the circuit board was just bouncing around loose in the housing. Coupled with the other reviews, I'm not sure how coolmax justifies charging for anything more than a paperweight

fiind something else

Bigguy1978, TigerDirect.com
30 October 2011
  • Summary: I've had nothing but problems with this powersupply. One has already burned out, took my mobo with it, and the replacement just quit today. That's 2 down in a matter of months. It's got a nice price tag on it and Coolmax is usually a good name, but I guess every product line can't be a winner.

Disappointing

Joe, TigerDirect.com
20 October 2011
  • Summary: I find it hard to believe this power supply is the least bit capable of putting out the 750W it is advertised to. I installed everything into my build, plugged this guy in and it barely put out enough power to turn the fans on in my system. I only require around 500 - 550 watts to run this setup and this power supply was unable to. No display, no USB, no hard drive, nothing.

Underpowered

EdRavenwood, TigerDirect.com
23 September 2011
  • Summary: I do not believe that this power supply is 750W. I would suggest searching for product reviews regarding this psu to get more information (closer to 450W). It would not power my new mobo requiring only 550W. Independent tests confirm that this is not 750W. Also, the fan is 135mm, not 140 mm.

stay away 2nd one caught fire

steven t., Newegg
9 August 2011
  • Summary: newegg is refunding even outside 30 days so kudos to them for that but this item should be pulled as it has proven itself not up to their standards and seriously unsafe. I build machines and I will not buy from this company again.
  • Pros: light, large fan
  • Cons: I have had 2 of these power supplies in a 2 month period both went out the first one burnt out in 1 day the second one ran a month and then as I was shutting off machine It caught on fire. Not sure about other people but I would not want to have my computer burn my house down. Stay away from these.
