was great then fan became loud

Audiophilleo, Newegg
25 November 2014
  • Summary: On top of that the online serial number registration does not work AND the serial number is on the back so I had to take the supply out of the case just to register for service. If you require the serial number for service you should put it somewhere visible and make sure the registration process...
  • Pros: Started out great and quiet
  • Cons: After only 3 months the fan suddenly appears to be stuck on full throttle and is very loud. This is the same problem others have reported recently. I tried powering down for the night but that makes no difference. My system only draws 300-400 watts.

"Silent" Pro M

Robert M., Newegg
15 November 2014
  • Summary: SUGGESTION: use more than a $2 fan for a product priced over $100, please.
  • Pros: 1000 Watts Black Cables Modular
  • Cons: Is much louder than my old 500W PSU (I'm thinking about switching back because of this) The only part of my computer that I can hear is the PSU, and from day 1 I was unhappy with my purchase; however, since I was building two computers at the time and getting ready to leave for college, I did not...

Cooler Master PSU was DOA.

Tracy James Justice Jr, Amazon
6 December 2012
  • Summary: I ordered this as an upgrade to my existing gaming PC, but the power supply arrived DOA. When I installed it in my PC and tried to start it, the system fan would spin, the CPU fan would start to spin then stop. The system would not boot to BIOS, nor could I get a POST, let alone start Windows.

Bret J., Newegg
10 October 2012
  • Summary: Immensely regret using this power supply in my computer build. 6 months and I am already replacing.
  • Pros: Provides power
  • Cons: Already making a buzzing noise after 6 months of ownership. In the process of replacing. Will not purchase any cooler master power supplies in the future.

Don't buy Cooler master Power Supply

ZHI G., Newegg
26 July 2012
  • Pros: When the cooler master power supply has problem, no email support is available even though you email to technical support. I tried twice, but no answers. I recommend coolmax. When coolmax power supply has problem, they will solve your problem immediately.
  • Cons: Technical support problems

Poor quality, poor support

Ryan R., Newegg
13 May 2012
  • Summary: My unit came with a faulty cable connection which melted down. I had to RMA through CoolerMaster and they made me pay for the return shipping which is quite expensive on a heavy item like this. Now I have received my replacement. A dinged up 'refurbished tested' replacement which is DOA. Tested huh?
  • Pros: Quiet Fan
  • Cons: Only 3 pairs of PCIe cables. Poor quality modular cable connections. Annoying and time consuming rebate promotion rather than than a traditional sale.

DOA

David M., Newegg
11 April 2012
  • Pros: Looked cool. Modular thing was nice, not fan of ribbon cables. Cooler Master has done good in the past
  • Cons: DOA. It would light up the board but nothing would boot. 5v connectors weren't putting out any juice.
