LOUD!

Shawn M., Newegg
23 February 2016
  • Summary: I would go for a 0 RPM fan PSU if you want silent. This was false advertising, I mean it was really loud!
  • Pros: Lots of wattage. Good wiring.
  • Cons: After 1 year, it got stuck on 100% fan power at all time. Was not quiet even when it was working.

Excellent Power Supply!

Jerald H., Newegg
10 September 2015
  • Summary: I highly recommend this power supply! Getting ready to swap the 580 for a GTX Titan Z.
  • Pros: This power supply is running a 32-Core AMD Opteron System, 128GB of ECC memory and a GTX 580. The CPUs and the GPU have been running 100% for over 2 years with no problems. The system is part of the GIMPS project - mersenne.org.
  • Cons: None so far.

Quiet enough, fan is a heck of a lot louder

Einar O., Newegg
28 August 2015
  • Pros: I'm assuming this is nice and quiet. My CPU fan is a noisy beast, I'll never hear the power supply because the CPU fan is so loud. Running 5 years now without a failure. I'd buy this brand again. I'm also happy with their cases.

was great then fan became loud

Audiophilleo, Newegg
25 November 2014
  • Summary: On top of that the online serial number registration does not work AND the serial number is on the back so I had to take the supply out of the case just to register for service. If you require the serial number for service you should put it somewhere visible and make sure the registration process...
  • Pros: Started out great and quiet
  • Cons: After only 3 months the fan suddenly appears to be stuck on full throttle and is very loud. This is the same problem others have reported recently. I tried powering down for the night but that makes no difference. My system only draws 300-400 watts.

"Silent" Pro M

Robert M., Newegg
15 November 2014
  • Summary: SUGGESTION: use more than a $2 fan for a product priced over $100, please.
  • Pros: 1000 Watts Black Cables Modular
  • Cons: Is much louder than my old 500W PSU (I'm thinking about switching back because of this) The only part of my computer that I can hear is the PSU, and from day 1 I was unhappy with my purchase; however, since I was building two computers at the time and getting ready to leave for college, I did not...

Will not recommend

Milton P., Newegg
1 November 2014
  • Summary: For the first few months of use the PSU was very silent. Out of the blue one day the fan noise on my system got extremely loud, it would come and go was hard to track down. During one night of use the fan noise got loud and stayed loud, I was able to get all of the panels off my case and did...
  • Pros: 1000W - handles power demands on system just fine Modular Design - Not the best but not bad, does help to limit the number of unnecessary power cables to organize in the case
  • Cons: This PSU started out great, but after about 4 months of use the fan noise on this PSU is off the chart. They titled this CPU the "Silent Pro" but it should have been titled, "Probably the loudest PSU you'll ever own!"
