disappointed

Jason N., Newegg

  • Pros: very quiet and plenty of connector types
  • Cons: only 2 years old and the fan is already going bad. Opened it up and of course it has a proprietary connector on the fan so it cannot be replaced.

MikeV, Mwave.com

  • Summary: Nice Energy Saving power supply for a standard build. Not sure if I would use this for a high end gaming system. If you are looking for a cheap good quality power supply, this would be it.

A real 450 wat PS

roger f., Newegg
12 June 2012
  • Pros: Good PS, bronze, quiet
  • Cons: Not all CM power supplies deliver the implied number. See 460 elite. It cannot deliver the implied watts. So this PS has no cons.

Perfect for a mid-level application

Chad W., Newegg
24 May 2012
  • Pros: This thing is quiet, that's great. I found the cables long enough but JUST long enough, in a bottom mount scenario, then again any longer and I'd have to tuck more away. It just does what it's supposed to do and does it quietly. Bought it for a "wife computer build."
  • Cons: It does a poor job of making sandwiches.

A great low-wattage efficient PSU

Mr. N/A, Mwave.com

  • Summary: If this goes on sale with a low or free shipping cost after-coupon, definitely worth considering picking one up if you can be certain your build will be demanding at least 100W.
  • Pros: Bought this PSU for a custom FreeNAS box and have been really pleased with it. The 5.5in depth makes it very friendly to my compact case, and I like that it only has one PCIe cable to tuck away aside from the cables that I actually use. The fan is probably the quietest always-on PSU fan I have ever seen, and is certainly the quietest out of the six different PSU models I have. The internals of the PSU have all of the protections you would expect to see in a mid-range ...
  • Cons: Not a biggie, but I remember the packaging for this being somewhat unimpressive, with no protective foam or anything of the sort. Related to the PSU, the spacing between the SATA connectors is little too close if youre trying to hook up a bunch of drives stacked up on top of each other in a mounting rack - you have to really really bend the cable a lot in between the connectors, leaving an amount of stress on the drive connections that is probably undesirable. Lastly,...
