Summary: Bought this to use with my solar panel set up. What I like best is that the cooling fan doesn't run all the time, where on some other inverters the fan runs all the time and can be noisy if you are in the same room with it. It's kind of hard to mount because the mounting holes are partially blocked by the body of the inverter, you have to angle the screws in. Also the USB port comes in handy for charging my ipod.
Summary: I purchased this for use in my wife's vehicle during church events to run small, low-power, electrical devices. I connected it to a small lawnmower battery using the supplied clips. This thing ran for over 2 hours powering some small lights and light strings (decorations). The fan never even came on. I'm interested to see what else I can run on this, using a larger car battery. Makes me feel better knowing I still have some options if we lose power at home.
