  • Conclusion: This PSU is VERY quiet, I can’t hear it at all even after turning the videocard fan off. The buzz from the hardrive will always be louder than the fan on the power supply. It was not horrible either when it comes to electricity usage, without setup it idled at 145W and ran at 190W under load. This is about ~5W less than the Coolermaster we compared vs. The fan really made this thing silent and the stability was awesome.

Arctic Cooling Fusion 550R PSU

BCCHardware

  • Summary: We initially plugged the PSU into an EZ PSU Tester 3 in order to power it on for our "idle" measurements. As noticed below, the voltage rails were fairly stable with no load, but these aren't necessarily indicative of overall load performance.  According to our Kill-a-Watt, the power draw was 6W.
  • Pros: Nice small unit, Interesting looks with external fan, Four PCIe connectors, Extremely quiet/noiseless, Very stable voltage
  • Cons: Fan "grill" is fragile, All molex connectors on a single line could cause limitations

  • Summary: The Arctic Cooling Fusion 550R is a good quality, high performance product. It is very stable and well designed, delivering great performance and value to all kinds of users. The company does well on focusing the advertising around the efficiency of the Fusion, as the 550R truly is one of the most efficient units one could buy anywhere close to its price range. It is also a very quiet running PSU and will please anybody who is trying to build a silent system.

Arctic Cooling Fusion 550R PSU

  • Excerpt: For this review I will be looking at a product from one of the big names in the computer hardware industry, though, as their name might suggest, not one of their “normal” pieces of hardware. The company is Arctic Cooling and the hardware under review is the Arctic Cooling Fusion 550R PSU, that’s “Payment Saving Unit”, but it is a power supply too.
  • Pros: Silent., Well built., Competitive price., Looks good with its sleeved cables and external fan., Powerful enough for all but the most powerful spec pc’s.
  • Cons: Sata power connectors all on one cable., Should be Branded the 500R

  • Conclusion: Eine solide Verarbeitung gepaart mit aktueller Technik lässt das Arctic Cooling Fusion 550R in unserem Test überzeugen.
