Summary: I used this unit to build my stepson a new Haswell machine. Its just a Pentium but with other case lights, a H60 closed loop cooler, two SSD's, one mechanical mass storage drive, a Nvidia 750, two DVD writers and multiple USB devices, this PS is everything I hoped for and more. The colored fans inside the unit are bright enough for him, and the sound they make are acceptable.
Pros: I didn't expect alot from this PS and I must admit it has surprised me. Its turned out to be rock solid.
Summary: I recommend this to other gamers! I have my PC overclocked at 3.8GHz and the PSU handles it with also 3 Hard Drives and the LED Lights in my PC!
Pros: Very nice and looks awesome in my Acrylic Case! Very quiet also. Very powerful! It handles my AM3 6 core Phenom FX-6400 with my GeForce GT440 card Playing BattleField 3 at high settings! No Lag or shut down. My PC is running its best ever thanks to NewEgg!!
Pros: This is a great power supply for a medium power computer. I have it running on my gaming computer with an AMD Radeon HD 5770, 8GB RAM, and an AMD Phenom II x4 945. The colors are cool and the wires are UV sleeved. The fan controller is great. It has two fans that intake from the inside and exhaust out. That way it functions as an internal fan exhausting the computer's heat and it's own heat out. Good design. Has all matters of protection
Cons: If you're using a newer chassis where the PSU's are mounted on the bottom of the case, the viewable window of this will be facing the bottom of the case and you wont be able to see it unless your case has a huge window.
Summary: I used this in my HTPC mini ITX case. The look is cool and illumination looks good in my entertainment center. I would consider this a power supply for someone who likes (BLING) over high quality supply. You can still hear that fan humming even with controller turned down. Not too good for someone who is using it to present HD video and Audio from an HTPC. As for reliablilty time will tell how long this baby will last. It is doing the job and the price is very resonable.
Pros: Good look, plenty of available power plugs. Fan speed adjustment.
Pros: I thought I bought this on Newegg, but it looks like I picked it up elsewhere back in 2005. The PSU has gone through 3 or 4 PC upgrades from the old socket 939 athlon, core2duo, and 2x i-series CPUs and respective peripheral hardware upgrade. After 8 years, this thing just keeps going and going and going - never encountered anything resembling an underpowered system even up to an i7 running a radeon 7950. Didn't give out, but had to retire it as a backup PSU since the...
Cons: Loud both visually and audibly - even with the fan set to the lowest setting, it still created an audible whirr, and I really didn't need the blue glow - wished I could turn it off. Also since the case is half clear, you can see dust accumulate.
Summary: So far so good, I got this on a steal, a 500w PSU for only $39.99!
Pros: See through, fan speed adjuster, compact, such an awesome PSU, granted I've only had a few days, but it's cable management is good, long cables for mobo, my case is a bottom mount PSU and cables are long enough to go around my GPU.
Summary: Decent enough quality, especially for the price. But if you have a full tower with a bottom mount power supply, look elsewhere. The lack of cable length is it's only fallback.
Pros: Seems to work fine and it looks cool in the right system, plus the price was right.
Cons: Not recommended for most full tower builds. The cables just aren't long enough to reach. I have a full tower with a bottom power supply mount, and the ATX12V cable is about 6 inches too short, I actually had to buy an extension. The main ATX power connector was just long enough, but with no room to route the cable neatly.
