This equipment was supposed to be used in a quiet ...

Ardi K, Amazon
22 August 2014
  • Summary: This equipment was supposed to be used in a quiet studio setting. Unfortunately, the fan on this unit runs all the time even when the batteries are fully charged, no load on the unit, and the unit's temperature is 24 degrees Celsius.

A bit sensitive?

Zachary T Carpenter, Amazon
6 November 2013
  • Summary: I had to gradually reduce the sensitivity over the course of a week due to ever increasing clicking noise coming from the unit, but my computer has stayed on through outages and brown outs, and I haven't had any further issues so far.

very quite

djt, Amazon
24 August 2013
  • Summary: The unit is very quite compared to my 12year old SmartUps 1400 which is a bit noisy when supplying power. The battery in the 1400 died and I elected to upgrade. After reading the reviews on APC products similar to the 1400 I decided to go with the SMX750 because of the continuous noise comments.

Great for my somewhat unconventional application

Don Deal, Amazon
24 August 2013
  • Summary: I purchased this unit in Jan 2011 after a long search for a UPS that would have a long run-time at minimal load. I use the unit as backup power for my home networking equipment: a cable modem, Soekris net5501 (firewall/router), Linksys WRT300N, and power-over-ethernet (POE) injectors for my VoIP...

A great product.

cg, Amazon
24 August 2013
  • Summary: Bought a pair of these for a server rack and they work great. Mounting the rails takes a bit of time, but other than that setup was simple. Make sure to remove the battery before placing the case in the rack: it makes the case only about 25 lbs versus almost 100 lbs with the battery.

  • Summary: We purchased this unit for our server room, specifically for our switches. We recently had a long power outage (like 15 minutes) and the unit kept our equipment up as it should!

Supports my whole system

McDickerson, Amazon
24 August 2013
  • Summary: Computer runs a 1200W supply, two 780 graphics cards, high power processor, 3 monitors, 5.1 speakers, 5bay NAS, and peripherals. When running system intense games, it gets this UPS to about 80-90%. The one time I have gone over it's limit was when I had a desk lamp plugged in as well.

The manual is laughable. I got more documentation when I purchased a twenty nine dollar toaster.

Val Shebeko, Amazon
24 August 2013
  • Summary: Seems very temperamental. Has been running for 3 days now but with problems. The manual is laughable. I got more documentation when I purchased a twenty nine dollar toaster. Online " user forums" and "knowledge bases " are not so helpful.

Rock solid UPS

mister_t42, Amazon
14 May 2013
  • Summary: This is a big improvement over the prior generation of APC UPS. We are using it with an extended battery pack, and in this generation the extended battery communicates with the main unit, so no configuration is needed. Browser based control for configuration, data logging and monitoring.
