Excerpt: This thing is impressive. It weighs a metric ton, and completely fills its two RU of space, front to back of the rack. It requires additional brackets (included) to support itself. So it was a back-breaking endeavor for one man to install. That being said, it performs.
Excerpt: This unit is being used to save the new Crestron audio visual upgrades that we recently had installed. As the facility does not have good power the UPS is there to protect our new investment and has done a wonderful job of late.
Excerpt: Pros: rated for long backup times, 2 outlets are separate ("group 1") for sequential/switched purpose, option add more batteries. Cons: 1) High freq. noise - noticeable in quiet room. 2) One large heat sink inside is tilted (box dropped?
Pros: Very reliable, good amount of battery for the cost. Currently supporting a entire desk, phones, and two computers, one server, and one mini computer. Two monitors, and a debit machine. Power failures and shorts the like have been avoided with this. Excellent quality and nice form factor.
Summary: The phone sales staff was very helpful in deciding what unit to purchase. I own other APC products with which I am very satisfied and this is no exception. Minor complaints: There is no way to turn off the display on this unit.
Summary: Bought this UPS to support a mobile workstation rackmount. The VA rating of this unit is just enough for a six disk fileserver and a workstation computer with two 24" screens and a few gizmos. The build quality is spectacular. The configuration menus are straightforward.
Pros: Top build quality. Good looks. Good runtime. Availability of support and parts very reassuring. Expansion slot. USB. Full time DC-DC pure sine PWM.
Cons: I wish they included the rackmount rails and not just the ears, but one could easily live without rails. They're far from essential.
Summary: I have a Dell Studio XPS 435T/9000, and because of its 'unique' power supply, requires a pure sine wave output on battery backup. I've had all kinds of APC UPS products, but they all had stepped up sine wave output, so I had to purchase this model.
