Excerpt: I use it to back up my Mac and Drobo. It has 3 outlets that provide battery power, the others are surge protection only. The labeling of the outlets is a little confusing so it's easy to misunderstand which outlets are surge protection only. The included software is for PC only and will not install on a Mac, but you don't really need the software to make use of the products features.
Excerpt: APC is an industry standard. They make quality gear. This unit makes some high-frequency oscillating sounds that can be a little annoying if it will be close to your head in its positioning.

In my case, it is being used in a recording studio, and that made a big difference. I connected APC support about it and they sent me a replacement. It does not seem a bad, but it too makes the sound. For many, this would not likely be an issue. In my application, it is.
Excerpt: The onboard controls and display are great for when you're connecting equipment other than a computer, such as routers/switches/etc.

As a side benefit, the voltage readout lets me know when my incoming house voltage is swinging throughout the day.
Pros: Solid build quality, seems to consistently power my PC and monitor.
Cons: As soon as I received the backup, I connected the internal battery as directed by the instructions, plugged it into the wall and I immediately noticed a very high pitch noise from the UPS. The noise is the kind of barely-audible high frequency pitch that sounds like the feedback from a hearing aid. The sound was not a single frequency, but whistled a little and I was actually concerned it might blow up or melt down. I tried to ignore it, assuming the sound was due to ...
Excerpt: This unit has already saved me from a couple of power spikes and some brief power outages (4 outages during some storms for a total of 9 minutes.) This is the third APC UPS unit I have had, and they seem to be the best option on the market despite my other two units failing with mysterious symptoms just after warranty expired. They could probably use some better customer service, which is why I bought this unit more cheaply through B&H.
Excerpt: I have a tower Mac Pro with two 30" cinema displays. The tower energy load is 240W and the displays are about 135W each. I have two APC Pro 700 side-by-side on the tower, one is for the Mac Pro and one for the two displays. They work well, very quite, fast response and they both fit on top my tower.
Pros: Easy To Install, Good Value, Highly Compatible, Quiet, Reliable
