Summary: I truly protects my computer incase of a power serge with the battery backup. The only dilemma I had concerned the proper hookup of the battery--did I do it right? There is no way I could tell for sure.
Excerpt: Have one 550 on the router and the other on the entertainment center. Works great, like the 2 APC 1500's on the computers. We've had a lot of thunderstorms recently and they all worked as you would expect. At one point we did have a surge that brightened the lights just before power was lost.
Summary: While everything works appropriately and the shippment from Walmart was uneventfull, probable this may be too much for a home computer, The company does make a 350VA system--just a suggestion.
