Summary: This is a very good battery backup unit, but the switch doesn't always turn it on when you push it, even though it beeps, indicating you turned it on. Very annoying. I have the same problem on another APC model, too.
Summary: Apparently someone at Newegg decided to hide their skin magizines in my box as it was being shipped out. There was a Quality assurance test slip taped to the side of the unit. Was it used? I seem to remember paying for new.
Pros: inappropriate material! (/BDSM) Some sort of Quality control check taped to the side of my unit. Power went out and it worked!
Cons: It is heavy, but then again it is a UPS unit. If you have A high speed network like me (100gb) this unit will be a bottleneck if you use it(goes down to 1GB) Unit failed to protect PC and components from a lightning strike. Network Protecting part failed, Router and NIC cards were fried.
Pros: Quick ship and quick install. Although have not had extended outage, it beeps now and then to signal a drop in current. Good to know as one wouldn't know otherwise. Hard to rate 5 without experiencing an outage, and hard to rate 5 with only 4 battery protected inputs. Had to Christmas tree one to...
Cons: Heavy so would be expensive to return/replace/replace battery.
Pros: For the price paid it's been good so far. I have my Comcast DVR cable box plugged in so that it doesn't have to re-load the entire schedule lineup every time there is a power bump. It's worked really well for this so far, even lasted for over an hour during a power outage with just the cable box ...
Excerpt: I think we just had a small test on whether or not this works. The power flickered and a message came up on the screen that AC power was restored. We had purchased the same model previously but it seemed to slow down the computer. Not being an IT person I assumed it was the backup.
Excerpt: The unit works fine, but I can only give it four stars. The reason is if you could replace the battery at a reasonable cost to extend the useful life of the unit and thereby reducing the electronic waste would be very good.
