Summary: After 2 solid years of use it's 12 volt is running at 14 volts. This of coarse is causing all kinds of issues. I will have to rewire the whole setup with a new power supply. I wasn't expecting this to last 6 years or anything but I was hoping for more then 2. This is under 24/7 365 use though so keep that in mind when reading this. Under normal use it would have lasted a lot longer most likely.
Pros: Good low end power supply. Steady voltages and gives you what you need out of a 650 watt power supply. Quiet and no fancy lights (I don't want those for this application).
Cons: Not modular, but there are not to many cable to manage anyway. Gets a bit hot so keeping it in a cool area is a must.
Summary: I've owned my custom built PC for about 8 months now using this power-supply, but I heard very bad reviews about it failing in the night and catching fire and taking some of the systems parts with it. I plan on replacing the power-supply for that, but it hasn't malfunctioned in the 8 months I've had it(but I turn my pc off at night when I'm not using it).
Summary: I go this in May 2012. Worked great for a year (until May 2013). It blew last night about 30 minutes after I went to sleep. Smoke alarm woke me up and it was definitely this PSU. As it is the holiday weekend, I have to wait until Tuesday to get any response from Antec. Strange it blew when it did (doing nothing) and not while I was gaming or something. No storms or electric surges, so not sure what was at fault.
Summary: I've put in for an RMA. I smelled burning rubber when the unit failed and it was very hot. I wonder if this was impacted at all by the "green" technology inhibiting amperage and therefore compensating with increased voltage causing the unit to overheat.
Pros: good number of connections, was good when it worked, when it failed it didn't take any other components out
Cons: 2 years is way to short of a power supply to last. 5-7 years is expected. I had a consistent burned electronics smell from purchase. Not sure it was this power supply. It was not close at all to full amperage load either.
Summary: I have submitted over 30 rebates on electronic products (computers, printers, memory, PC cases, etc.) and this is the first time I have been denied a rebate. I will no longer purchase Antec products.
Pros: Had PSU for over a month. Works well and has plenty of connectors. Read reviews about faulty units, but price after rebate sold me. Did not care if the color was green as long as it provided enough power for my 1st gen iCore7 PC. Cannot tell if it is loud because other fans on PC are loud.
Cons: Received an email 9 days ago stating that my rebate was denied. Antec rebate web page stated that "The product you purchased is not eligible under this promotion." even though the rebate form I submitted was linked to the product page. It even states that I cannot resubmit my claim. THIS IS A WARNING. You may not receive your Antec rebate if you purchase Antec products.
