Summary: After hooking everything up in my new Antec 900 case I pressed that case power switch and heard a small pop then a whiff of burning electronics. After that the PSU would not fully power on with anything connected to the modular plugs. After pulling both HDDs and testing them neither drive would spin up or do anything really. I put the optical drive in another case and it would not even open the drive using the front button, all of the electronics were dead.
Summary: I returned this for refund because it was defective, and the defect was so horrible I did not want to try another one. It almost killed my computer the first time. No thanks! Here's what happened: I thought I'd QC this PSU before using it for a new build, so I hooked it up to my other system to boot it up. The old PSU was completely removed, and the new one hooked up correctly. Everything was triple checked.
