Was Promising

Sukil L., Newegg
24 March 2012
  • Summary: My guess would be that the 1000w isn't as reliable as the 850w model in the long run. Both from the same model line just wattage difference, same features. Both bronze certified.
  • Pros: Runs quiet, looks solid, has almost all the features you need, nice removable cables, you use the cables you need and remove the ones you don't for a more clean looking case.
  • Cons: Didn't last as long as I'd hoped. Purchase around 11/7/2008, it just suddenly blew out in 10/2011. Under moderate usage, when it blew it, it blew the fuse in the area of my house and it made a loud pop noise, so I was startled. I initially wasn't sure what happened, but since I was working on the...

second failure this year

Anonymous, Newegg
24 July 2010
  • Summary: RMA process took 5 weeks after a ticket was processed....
  • Pros: It provides power when it works....
  • Cons: I first bought a 850W psu from antec which blew in under a year they sent me the 1000W as a RMA which blew a couple mins ago with about 6 months of use.... just in time for sc2... stay clear from antec

Worked good when it worked

Anonymous, Newegg
20 July 2010
  • Summary: I will probably replace this with a Corsair (which was my first choice - I just didn't want to spend the extra money). I have two other Corsair TX 750's that run 24/7 and have not had a single issue with them (after one+ year of usage)
  • Pros: Nice and long cables. Packaging is nice. Casing looks really nice. Everything started out good...and then... As other stated. It died on my after about 5 months of use. i7 920 - clocked to 3.4 H50 cooling ASUS X58 12GB Patriot 1800mhz Patriot Torqx 128gb Seagate 500gb SATA II Sapphire 5770
  • Cons: My main rig is down while I RMA and replace the power supply.

Worked Great.. Right up to the end

James M., Newegg
12 April 2010
  • Summary: Will be taking advantage of the 5 year warranty, and RMA'ing the unit. I am lucky enough to have a spare Power Supply (however, only 500W), hopefully enough power for my system.
  • Pros: Great PS, runs quiet, more than enough power for my rig, and the modular plug design makes for cleaner cable runs.
  • Cons: Ran great right up to when it died, almost 2 years to the day after installing it. As others have reported, without warning, a very audible pop, which tripped the house circuit breaker, followed by that very distinct odor we all dread. Hopefully nothing else is damaged.

Sudden death!?!

Brent B., Newegg
9 April 2010
  • Summary: Pass on this, go with another company. I love antec for their cases, and even had one of their power supplies that lasted me 10 years, but I've since lost my trust in them.
  • Pros: Looks good (Love those racing stripes), modular.
  • Cons: I bought this back around June 09, paid full price, and have been using it ever since on a daily basis, but not 24/7. Suddenly, yesterday, about 20 secs after turning on my PC, while it was booting up, it just died. No reason at all, my powerstrip wasn't tripped, nothing. I sent it off today for ...

Looks are deceiving

Beau P., Newegg
1 January 2010
  • Summary: I would recommend going with something more reliable, I just hope my components are ok, well see...
  • Pros: Looks cool, powerful, just what you need if it lasted.
  • Cons: After reading all the posts on this it seems there is a trend of failure 1-6 months of usage. Mine made it to 6... POOF!!
