Dependable Power Supply

Shawn H., Newegg
16 November 2015
  • Pros: Great power supply! I have been using this HCG power supply for 3 years and it's still going strong. I have had my fair share of power supply failures and it's nice to have the dependability of this Antec HCG series PS.

Low end PSU for shorttime use

Toaha I., Newegg
4 March 2014
  • Summary: Antec is usually good but this PSU was a fail from Antec
  • Pros: Strong connectors and organized cable. Very cheap after rebate for 2012 standard.
  • Cons: Cheap , Cheap , Cheap ... Clicking sound from the fan after only 1 year of on and off use. Very bad no matter how cheap this PSU was

Richard H., Newegg
12 February 2014

  • Cons: Bad Quality Fan

Stellar

Amy M., Newegg
25 June 2013
  • Summary: I think most people over-buy on their PSU these days. Crack open any mass-produced pc brand and you'll find shockingly low wattages with no problems. Newer processors, ssds, and (some) lower-wattage video cards mean you don't need 1000W to get great performance anymore.
  • Pros: Has run my i5-3570 rig with a Sapphire 6870 without any problems. I wouldn't SLI with it, but I prefer a decent PSU at lower wattage to a higher wattage off-brand PSU any day. It also helps that I got this one dirt cheap after a sale and a rebate.
  • Cons: None.

Bleh

Alan K., Newegg
25 June 2013
  • Summary: figure I would go with this instead of seasonic; first psu that had a bad fan; used to use antec a lot but I think maybe I shoudl just pay a little more and find something better built. I mean fans are cheap at the oem level no real reason not to use a high quality fan.
  • Pros: Cheapish (not really)
  • Cons: Fan very loud clicking after 2 years. Have to replace the unit the fan is so bloody annoying.
