Summary: Should have RMA'd it years ago. I've bought Antec units before in the past and never experienced issues. None were of the earthwatts class.
Pros: Lots of cables and connectors.
Cons: When I first purchased this psu years ago from newegg, maybe in 2009, I never found it to be stable and had issues with random shutdowns. I eventually gave up on it but never issued an RMA and instead bought a Seasonic unit of similar specs locally and all the random power issues went away and ne...
Pros: It works great like it says until it doesn't!
Cons: It went bad 8 months after warranty. "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." 99% this error is because of the PSU, so I'm getting a new one.
Summary: Pros: High power, lots of high quality connectors, quiet for one year. Cons: Unreliable and problematic. Size is bigger than most. Other Thoughts: First unit I had to return after two weeks because it would randomly not allow bootup or the computer would randomly shut down due to the power supply.
Pros: Had to RMA due to impending fan failure. Antec did a great job and I had a replacement in about 10 days. Hope the new one lasts longer than the last.
Summary: I may return this because its not something that I am 100% pleased with. System I built this into: Asus P8P67 PRO (Rev 3.1) Intel Core i5-Quad 2.8 (Turbo to 3.1) Asus GeForce GTX 550 Ti 16 Gig of G.Skill Ripjaw 1600 Mhz PC3 12800
Pros: I have no problems for what this is supposed to do. Almost no heat coming off this thing, very quite for the most part. I did not have any problem with any voltages from my unit. It's black. It does have some modular cables.
Cons: Only 1 time did I hear the fabled clicking that some others have posted about, it then stopped on its own. Not 100% modular, it only allows about 3 cables for the modular part. I took off 2 eggs because I thought it would be a little more modular, and because the cables are not long enough to be ...
Summary: Aesthetics are important to me, but through my anticipation to get my computer built I put a mounting screw halfway into the screw hole in the center of the dent and used a small pair of pliers on it to straighten the back plate up enough to mount the psu. We'll see if it starts clicking...
Pros: Fast delivery.
Cons: This thing had a dent and paint chips on the back panel right out of the box. It was packaged nicely, and I had no problems with the box Newegg sent, so I think it came from the factory like this. Top left portion of back panel was where the dent was.
Pros: Great price through combo/daily deals. Semi-modular design allows less cable clutter if you only use few components. Netting around wires looks cool.
Cons: Fan started clicking after 7 months usage. I went nuts trying to figure out which one it was, before I slapped my head and tried the psu. Sounds like a bearing starting to go. The primary mainboard could be another 2 inches longer. For those who have to route cables behind the mobo plate, you kno...
