More than I expected

Gary R., Newegg
21 September 2015
  • Summary: This is my new power supply of choice for basic PC repairs. And my choice of supplier. Shipping was fast for free! Power supply is a good solid construction which is what I expect from Antec. I was impressed with the modular connector placement on the two cable runs out of the PSU.
  • Pros: Received the newer EA-450 instead, power rails are solid when tested, shipping was really fast (ordered late Thursday and got it Monday). Fan is whisper quiet. Cables make sense in length and modular connector placement.
  • Cons: Packaging was marginal but didn't cause any issues as far as damage.

persistent chemical odor

Anonymous, Newegg
19 July 2013
  • Pros: Works perfectly and is very quiet.
  • Cons: Has a persistent vinyl/veneer odor that can fill up a small room. I returned an EA430 (120mm fan) to Antec and they sent me this version instead. It has the same exact problem. This is a problem that has cropped up from time to time with product made in China that I've bought. I've found out the ...

new car smell

Anonymous, Newegg
18 February 2013
  • Summary: When I first opened the box, this EA430 had a very strong plastic/vinyl odor. I was hoping that, after a break in period, this odor would diminish, but it has not. It's very noticeable after my computer has been running for a few hours.
  • Pros: near silent operation.
  • Cons: chemical odor that is undiminished after two weeks.

Earthwatts EA-430D

Anonymous, Newegg
16 December 2012
  • Summary: I understand that this shold fall under a 3 year warranty, that I hope Antec honors.
  • Pros: It worked great for 2 (1/2) years?
  • Cons: I did a lot of research to buy a good power source that would last longer than this... disappointed, It failed after 2 (1/2) years of light use. I am not a gamer, so this power source was not stretched to it limits by any means. It powered two sata drives a micro asus mother board with an AMD phe...

Excellent followup to 380w

Leng C., Newegg
2 November 2012
  • Summary: 3570k HD 7850
  • Pros: Antec had to create a higher wattage psu to follow up with the highly rated success of the 380w they had. They nailed it. This psu sports a bigger fan than the one in the 380w, but is still just as quiet. I cannot comment on efficiency, but if 80plus bronze is the rating, then it should be able t...
  • Cons: Not all wires are black sleeved, but I was okay with it.

  • Cons: Not modular. Sigh.

Sean M., Newegg
5 September 2012
  • Summary: Has plenty of expansion possibilities for my HTPC. Seems reliable and is quiet enough to be non-bothersome but loud enough to know when it is on (I unplug LEDs so this is a feature for me).
  • Pros: Quiet enough No problems so far It works, I dunno its a PSU: l/O
  • Cons: Its dark olive drab in color, doesn't bother me
