Summary: I bought 3 of these radios, one for me and two as gifts for Christmas. At one time I had an old "box" radio that had an excellent speaker and had the old slide-rule dial, but after years of listening to that one at work it finally gave up on me. I had been wanting to find something similar but most of the radios now are all boom boxes with stereo speakers or personal-type units that are made for headphones/earbuds.
Summary: The Tivoli Songbook has it all, excellent FM sensitivity, selectivity, and freedom from the front-end overload that plagues so many small FM sets. AM sensitivity and selectivity top notch too, though the latter less impressive than FM. Add excellent sound (you can turn up as loud as it will go with virtually no distortion. With Henry Kloss involved, how could it be otherwise.
Excellent radio; superb customer service by Tivoli Audio

Summary: The Songbook is an excellent radio: high quality audio, intuitive and well laid out controls, beautiful design, and tough. I use it as an FM radio, as an alarm clock, and, when I travel, as an external speaker for my laptop (the radio is about the size of a book, so it fits easily in my briefcase). The SongBook is my favorite alarm clock, at home and when traveling.
Excerpt: It's great to use on trip and when I am around the house, where no other power source is available. on the deck. It's clearity, easy to use control are great. Simple , but powerful! Have been a user of Tivoli products for years; will buy again and again!
Pros: Durable, Good Sound Quality, Great Reception, Lightweight, Long Battery Life
Summary: I conducted a fairly extensive - and enjoyable- search for a radio to use at work after on-line music streaming was blocked by my employer. Because the reception in my office is just about 'nil, it was important for me to find a radio with not only good FM reception, but also an input jack for me to connect ipod/phone. I also needed the device to fit into a small nook on my desk. Plus I wanted the unit to look, well, like a piece of e-candy.
Excerpt: I use this at home, since I found after relying on my ipod as a stereo, I only had clock radios in the house. The sound is fantastic, and it's easy to take anywhere I want. Good battery life. I like the simple, clean look of it, and appreciate the rubberized exterior (I bought the white). I do wonder if I will have difficulty keeping the exterior clean and looking as nice as it does now! But that may be my fault for buying white.
Pros: Durable, Good Sound Quality, Great Reception, Lightweight
Good Look and Feel Matched with Strong Performance

Summary: With iPod auxiliary, premium speaker, and above average AM/FM reception, the Songbook is an attractive radio. I've had mine for 3 years. It locks on stations well. The speaker is not overwhelming in volume or bass but produces a warm sound. The speaker is not as rich as Tivoli's brother, the Model One, but the Songbook, perhaps because of its telescopic antenna, gets far better FM reception.
