Summary: The Tivoli Songbook has it all, excellent FM sensitivity, selectivity, and freedom from the front-end overload that plagues so many small FM sets. AM sensitivity and selectivity top notch too, though the latter less impressive than FM. Add excellent sound (you can turn up as loud as it will go with virtually no distortion. With Henry Kloss involved, how could it be otherwise.
Summary: This is our favorite Tivoli Audio radio. It's compact, delivers good sound and has an ample set of "presets" for both the AM and FM bands. It can be used with either conventional or rechargeable batteries (it requires six AA batteries). This version of the radio (with the hard finish rather than the rubberized finish actually stays cleaner. (The rubberized one tends to be a dirt magnet and gets sticky).
Summary: I wanted this to work out so badly! I love the design, and I needed a bedside radio that showed the time as well as the radio station when it was playing. Saved up for it, ordered it, was excited when it came, tried it, returned it. My three problems with this beautiful Tivoli: 1) I listen to two radio stations, and it didn't get one of them at all clearly. The old Boston I was going to retire did.
Summary: I was introduced to Tivoli by my brother who had a early model PAL radio. Bought two SongBooks for myself and one as a gift for my father-in-law. Really not happy with these radios. The sound is mediocre at best and I would say better for listening to talk radio than music. The blue SongBook (I bought red and blue ones) has the worst sticky finish on it and its impossible to clean and feels disgusting to pick up.
Summary: I ordered this because the picture was of the MATTE Yellow SongBook with black knobs. What I was sent was the GLOSS Yellow with silver knobs. I have been looking for the Matte one on Amazon, but should have just bought it directly from Tivoli.
Excellent radio; superb customer service by Tivoli Audio

Summary: The Songbook is an excellent radio: high quality audio, intuitive and well laid out controls, beautiful design, and tough. I use it as an FM radio, as an alarm clock, and, when I travel, as an external speaker for my laptop (the radio is about the size of a book, so it fits easily in my briefcase). The SongBook is my favorite alarm clock, at home and when traveling.
Works great, and a big improvement over the last version

Summary: I bought the Tivoli Songbook in black some years ago to supplement my aging (but still working) Tivoli PAL. Now, I love the PAL -- it's the radio that let me listen to New Orleans radio stations during my Katrina evacuation when my car radio no longer picked up WWL 870 -- but I wanted an easier way for me & the kids to hook up their iPods, plus I wanted digital tuning.
Summary: We've had our white Songbook for over two years and it looks great and the sound is exceptional. The knobs and buttons has a solid built feel and overall we're pleased with its clean aesthetics and performance. HOWEVER, like the other reviews, the rubberized finish on the case can be an issue. Within a year of owning the Songbook, dust began to stick on the case and when attempting to clean the case, it only spread the dust/grime around in a sticky mess.
Summary: This radio sounds great and the ease of controlling the stations is wonderful. It really fit the bill for the need I wanted to fill - portable with digital preset stations that would be easy to change. I have a big problem with the exterior of the radio. I have the yellow one, so the other colors may not have the same issue. I've owned the radio for about 9 months. The exterior of the radio has become "tacky", as in adhesive.
