Important Warning about the Poor Quality of this Item
1 July 2014
Summary: I bought this radio a few years ago. I love the design and quality. (I have 3 other Tivoli radios.) This one is *terrible8. Over time -- even if the radio is sitting on a shelf, not in sunlight, etc. etc. -- the plastic degrades.
Summary: I bought 3 of these radios, one for me and two as gifts for Christmas. At one time I had an old "box" radio that had an excellent speaker and had the old slide-rule dial, but after years of listening to that one at work it finally gave up on me.
Summary: The Tivoli Songbook has it all, excellent FM sensitivity, selectivity, and freedom from the front-end overload that plagues so many small FM sets. AM sensitivity and selectivity top notch too, though the latter less impressive than FM.
Summary: I wanted this to work out so badly! I love the design, and I needed a bedside radio that showed the time as well as the radio station when it was playing. Saved up for it, ordered it, was excited when it came, tried it, returned it.
Summary: I was introduced to Tivoli by my brother who had a early model PAL radio. Bought two SongBooks for myself and one as a gift for my father-in-law. Really not happy with these radios. The sound is mediocre at best and I would say better for listening to talk radio than music.
Summary: I ordered this because the picture was of the MATTE Yellow SongBook with black knobs. What I was sent was the GLOSS Yellow with silver knobs. I have been looking for the Matte one on Amazon, but should have just bought it directly from Tivoli.
Excellent radio; superb customer service by Tivoli Audio

Summary: The Songbook is an excellent radio: high quality audio, intuitive and well laid out controls, beautiful design, and tough. I use it as an FM radio, as an alarm clock, and, when I travel, as an external speaker for my laptop (the radio is about the size of a book, so it fits easily in my briefcase).
