  • Summary: Still trying to get better reception in my rural neighborhood. Think a bigger antenna may work.

Does not stay in tune

Ken, Amazon
20 March 2014
  • Summary: It worked until one day it stopped holding stations. We can set it to a station with great reception and clarity and they it will start to fade (and the little lights will fade above the off dial) and we will have to fiddle with the tuning over and over again. We called Tivoli and they informed us that the grease on the tuner may have settled and that we should turn off the radio and turn the tuning dial back and forth many times to spread the grease out again.

Needs a tone control

Jazzmandan, Amazon
20 January 2014
  • Summary: I really like the quality and the looks of this radio. But in some locations in our home, and with some programming, the bass is unacceptably boomy. I realize an external equalizer would solve this problem, but so would a simple, inexpensive built-in tone control, and at the cost of this radio, it shouldn't raise the cost a nickle. Bottom line: try before buying, or be sure of return possibility.

Tivoli model one

Anonymous, Crutchfield
26 July 2013
  • Summary: I live 60 miles from the station I listen to and cannot pickup AM the station also is FM so I strung a 20 foot antenna in the garage to receive FM. Tuner dial is off one frequency level. Crutchfield service excellent as usual.
  • Pros: Easy to use.
  • Cons: Built in antennas not adequate for that price radio.

Radio Review

irene e miller, Amazon
28 January 2013
  • Summary: When the volume is turned up it makes staticy noises as if in protest to my turning it up. I like the looks of the radio but I think for the high price it should work better. I've used it for about a month. I wish it could lock in the two favorite stations so if I turn to one I can easily retrieve the other.

Drifts off stations

Gilgamesh "desert runner", Amazon
3 October 2012
  • Summary: I bought this radio 2 years ago in order to listen to our closest Public Radio station - we live in a very rural area and the station is about 75 miles away. I was able to get quite good reception with a small rooftop FM antenna. I have had 2 main issues with the radio, which I put up with for a long time. A few weeks ago, I couldn't take it any more, and I replaced it and I am very happy I did.
