Summary: The tape deck works well & the sound is good. The FM works well although it does not have a lot of range - I can't get stations within an hour of where I live. The button to change stations is not easy to operate as I have the unit usually in my pants pocket & I have to fool around to change stations & the volume wheel can be hard to locate or operate quickly as the headphone cord can be turned that almost covers it.
Summary: I had purchased an iPod for my wife, but she really wanted a simple portable cassette player. After checking around, I found that the Sony Walkman was the only portable cassette player that had a good reputation for reliability and sound. It is well built and is very easy to operate, which is all my wife wanted.
Summary: bought for my husband to listen to his old big band cassette's and he just loves it!! these are hard to find but are really the best for older people who hang onto things of the past such as "old favorite cassettes". please do not quit manufacturing these "little jewels".
Summary: I purchased this same model a few years back. It was dropped and broken, and Sony repair service was unable to repair it. I listen to a lot of classical music and find the sound quality on this model excellent so I bought exactly the same model.
Summary: Have only tried it and everything seems to be working. Construction very flimsy...hope it lasts for a while. I knew what I was getting (no A/C-DC and no automatic reverse) and I accepted to pay the price which is very high for what you are getting...guess it is a sellers market!
