Summary: Excellent. For under 10 dollars, this SONY mono has very good value. It is a gem. This radio had so many rave reviews, I had to investigate. This small, silver radio is light in weight and sturdy. It has surprisingly good sound and volume quality. The antennae is fine and my reception is good. I can not measure or test the technical performance like others did. The battery closure is adequate. I was concerned that it was a knockoff. It isn't.
Summary: We've had this Sony pocket radio in black for many years and were looking for a second one. We found it on Amazon, this one in silver. The radio is small enough to carry around or pack, and it gets really good reception. We listen to the Giants' baseball games on it when we're out. We'd certainly recommend this product.
Summary: This was a replacement of the same model radio . Seems Sony has updated the unit a little to make the volume control dial with better control and the radio station selector dial with more smoother control
Summary: My wife and I have been buying this model for so many years we cannot remember accurately. It could easily be 30-40 years. It has been nothing but reliable, and you certainly can't beat the price. I believe the first one we purchased cost about $3, and it lasted for many years. Another purchased about five years ago is going strong. We're afraid this model could go out of production, so we are purchasing two more at this time.
Summary: I dropped my Sangean 400W and that was the end of it. Ordered the Sanyo, not expecting as much reception because of the price. What a surprise! It brings in all the stations that I used on the Sangean with as much clarity. I am delighted with the purchase! A real bargain.
Pros: Durable, Good Sound Quality, Great Reception
Summary: I've had one of these radios since the 90s, and I'm sure it will still be working for many years to come. This radio's design is very refined, from the nice tactile click when you spin up the volume knob to turn it on, to the perfecty balanced tuning knob. This radio tunes very accurately and doesn't drift once you've set the knob.
