Good value that lacks Android integration and some USB functionality
7 July 2014
Summary: This unit has reasonable bass for its price and mids/highs that are crisp and clear. You can't expect it to tickle your rib cage with 50hz bass, but you -can- expect to both hear and feel 50hz lows. I had hoped for better USB integration and took a star due to the ability to use random play for USB folders ... and another one because of the tight integration with Apple products but the distinct lack of similar integration with Android devices.
Summary: Overall nice, probably more awesome if you have an IPOD. The bass that everyone says it has isn't all that. There is no custom sound adjust-ability, and that would be nice. It get super loud and is very clear.
Summary: I love my stereo equipment and was looking for the best BANG for my buck. This system sounds GREAT with a CD in and hooked to an IPod in the docking station. The Base sounds like a home stereo within reason. I really wanted Bluetooth but is does not have it and wanted to use my Samsung S4 via that connection. Well I figured I would just use the audio input jack on the back with the cable connected and it works but the sound is HORRIBLE, NO BASE OR VERY LITTLE.
Summary: I know what LOUD is. (All of this epic fail is on 120v btw.) Many of these reviews praising this thing said how LOUD this thing is. I bought it because I wanted LOUD, (good but LOUD). This thing is feeble. At MAX you can talk over it in a 12x20 room. That is NOT "LOUD". It does sound good, and it does sound in the middle so if you get right next to it seems "loud" but for yard filling or even room filling music it just isn't going to happen with this unit.
Summary: I purchased this box based on the stellar reviews. I was sorely disappointed. This unit does have nice mids and highs but where's the bass? I thought I was missing something in setup but found that the xbass is automatically on and the equalizer set to rock only added a modicum of bass. I know how good something sounds is subjective but for me this is going back to Best Buy. I played it side by side with my Altec Lansing iM810 and there was no contest to my ears.
