Summary: Well, it's a bummer. This clock, despite being complicated, is easy to use. The manual is fantastic, and the build quality is high. Everything works. The main complaint is the display. Because it's this odd-take on an LCD screen, being backlit, it's really pretty bright. Also, if you're below the level of the display, it's very hard to read. The whole front panel glows, and that's the annoying part. If you're not real sensative to light at night, it won't be a problem.
Summary: Everything about this clock radio is terrific, until you lay your head down on the pillow and you realize you cannot see the clock! I had to make a 3 inch wedge platform to raise the back in order to have the lcd screen visible to me laying down. Also, the brightness control only goes one way, so if you pass by the setting you want, you must go all the way around to set it properly.
Summary: I originally bought this to use as an alarm clock, but the display was difficult to read from slightly below, and was too bright when adjusted to be visable at all. So I moved it to my home office, where I've been greatly enjoying using the radio and iPod functionality. My other radios around the house have a hard time tuning a few of my favorite local stations, but the Sangean was able to lock onto a clean, clear signal on all of them.
Pros: · Excellent tuner: locks on to weak signals. · Good sound: Strong (though not tight) bass responce.
Cons: · Display: Viewable only from straight on and above. · iPod Dock: iPod doesn't seat firmly. · Remote Control: Slow responce when controling iPod.
