Summary: Build quality is quite high. Design is uncluttered and easy to use. While good, the sound quality can not be classified as high fidelity (but that should not be expected). A high value purchase in terms of its very high quality relative to its very reasonable price.
Summary: I bought this radio because my wifi was causing a lot of static when i tried to listen to am stations in the house. the radio is very good and when placed near a window is static free. I can now listen to my am stations and the talk radio shows i enjoy. the sound from the speaker is very clear. It may not be surround sound but a old geezer like me could not hear the difference any way.
Summary: This is just what we were looking for. A compact but great sounding radio to bring to the beach. Only suggestion is to put raised area around on/off button as the button protrudes out from radio and if the radio is pressing against something it easily gets turned on. Otherwise, great item and especially for the money!
Summary: Now that I've had this radio for awhile I'll give my take on it. I bought this radio as a replacement for the Eaton FR-300 radios I have used for many years. Those radios work great but after a couple years of hard use the old manual dial type tuners begin to fail; which meant having to retune in the station every few minutes as the signal would drift away.
Summary: I have purchased Sangean radios before. Very pleased with this brand. I have now purchased a total of five of this particular weather radio. One for myself, my son, and three relatives who live in tornado country. The reception is fantastic. The weather alert feature can be set while listening to AM/FM or even when radio is turned off. I can personally attest that the alert with wake you if radio is turned off. (I also have the PR-D7 and the DT-210.
