Summary: It's been over a year after purchase and it sits in our bathroom quietly for most of time. My daughter blasts off her radio station. I play my pod casts. My wife turns into the local NPR station. A set of D cell batteries lasts over an year. It's not on all day, but it's on pretty much every day.
Summary: I think I've had it for two years. I pretty much just use it when I'm showering in the morning. I don't think I've changed the batteries yet. However, it has an indicator for remaining battery life. My batteries have been "dead" for a couple of weeks now.
Pros: Waterproof. Great battery life. Several presets. Clock display.
Cons: Changing the time for DST is not obvious. For half the year, I'm an hour off.
Summary: Bought this to replace the Sony shower radio, which developed a hole in the rubber button cover and shorted out. This has been a pleasant upgrade. First, the sound. I like my music, and appreciate good sound quality even from small, portable speakers.
Summary: I debated over going with this or the Sony. I read lots of reviews and was worried about some of them saying it wasn't loud enough and the reception wast great. I use it to jam out in my shower to music and talk radio. It's absolutely everything I could have asked for it to be.
Summary: I bought this radio to replace a Sony ICFS79W AM/FM/Weather Band Digital Tuner Shower Radio that stopped working after one year. (Please see my review of that radio to see why NOT to buy it.) I was not familiar with Sangean products, so didn't know what to expect.
Summary: The Sangean marketing model expects the customer to be a fool.
Pros: I own an H-201 and wanted to upgrade to the model with Weather Alerts. I emailed Sangean and they indicate that they are shipping the H-201 with Weather Alerts even though there is no indication in any of the descriptions. Their website shows two different models, the "H-201" & "H-201 Weather" So...
Cons: Those of us who are aware of the "H-201 Weather" version and want to get that particular one have absolutely no way to guarantee that is the one we will get. I wrote to Sangean and they think I should just order the H-201. They expect me to be a fool.
Summary: Does the job. A bit bulkier and heavier than I had thought. I get adequate volume with both radio and Bluetooth. Reception is similar to other radios we own. I am able to pair multiple devices (one at a time of course).
Summary: It may be too early to call, but this radio looks as if it could easily tackle the humidity in a bathroom while still delivering good sound. It's only mono and I still haven't figured out why I would need a flashlight under the shower, but there is no crackling, no fumbling with a dial, no worries...
Summary: The best shower radio you can buy. Sure, it's a bit pricey, but it's worth it. The batteries last forever if you don't constantly use the bluetooth (and still pretty long even if you do). It works flawlessly. And it gets a great signal. You never have to worry about water damaging it.
