Summary: I purchased this radio because I worked in a factory setting where there is a ton of noise at any given time. Forklifts, presses, industrial rim welders, metal grinders, and you name it. It is loud and we are required to wear earplugs.
Summary: Great quality radio. The sound quality is good and the bass is there if you want it. The EQ presets help the radio sound good in both indoor and outdoor settings. In response to the review that mentioned a "burning plastic smell", I can say that I did not notice this.
Summary: I recently used the Fatbox on a rafting trip and it was perfect! No issues whatsoeva while in a water battle. I wish it had ipod controls on the outside though. I used regular D batteries and they lasted about 5 hours at full blast.
Summary: I haven't dropped it or got it wet or anything, but it seems pretty durable by the looks of it. And it sounds good. My only complaint is that I can't see the built in clock unless the radio is off. Otherwise I think this is a nice work radio.
Summary: You can not go wrong with any of these radios from Sangean . I own four, and love them all. I also have two Bose wave radios, and my Sangean radios sound much better, for much less! Thank you Sangean !
Summary: I am a bit of a radio junky. I listen to the radio all day long. I needed to relieve my Jeep and its batteries of the duty of playing my music and my stories when I work in the yard or the shop. This radio replaces 3 or 4 of my stereos because I can haul it around.
Summary: Purchased to use in boat. Plugs into cigarette lighter and is really rugged. It has been in 5 boat trips now and is more than adequate to provide great sound while running 4 stroke 70 wide open or anchored at beach with approx. 12 people. Everyone is impressed with the sound volume and quality.
Summary: With the first Fatbox I received, the Aux ports didn't work straight out of the box. I returned it and was promptly shipped a replacement. With the replacement, the Aux ports worked straight out of the box.
