Summary: I read all the reviews before purchasing this radio and would agree with some of the less positive points about this radio BUT, and its a big but, this was still the best option for us. Why? Well we live in a stone cottage in the hills of Mid-Wales. We can`t get FM, never mind DAB digital!
Summary: Living abroad and wanting to listen to some UK radio programmes, I tended to use the internet on my laptop to access the BBC and others. However, I sought more flexibility in using a simple radio-like item which I could move around, use indoors and outdoors, and which was easy to set up and use. A friend recommended the PURE EVOKE DAB internet radio which accessed both digital radio and stations through the internet.
Summary: This really is a lovely looking radio once you get it out of the box. It is easy to set up with your wifi connection; all you need is your wireless key and you're off. Even the Media Server was a breeze to set up and I was streaming my own music off my laptop within minutes. There were a few disappointments though.
A geek's dream, maybe a "normal person's" nightmare?

Summary: I have read the many differing reviews on this product with great interest. Some of the longer reviews are very well-considered and point out some of the home truths about this product's "foibles". I got mine yesterday, set it up easily, was impressed by its versatility and performance and quickly learnt how to use the unintuitive interface and the rather "odd" Lounge website.
Excellent radio - but Pure Lounge website needs improvement

Summary: Had this radio for a couple of weeks now and I have to say I'm very impressed. Unlike some other reviewers I don't find the interface particularly troublesome and I didn't have any problems setting everything up. It may take a little getting used to, this is not a bog standard radio after all, but it's really not that complicated.
Excerpt: Christmas 2008, I was desperately looking for a present which my partner wanted to get me.... Being a bit of a gadget lover, I started looking along the electrical goods lines and spotted the DAB radios. * General Pure are the market leaders when it comes to DAB radios, their range runs from the basic DAB radio all the way up to this nearly top of the range model.
A great radio, with some interface flaws - but which are hopefully fixable

Summary: I'll get straight to the things that you'll probably want to know about this radio first. It does play the BBC's listen again audio streams, it plays radio station live streams, and it does play podcasts. You can also add your own streams that you find to your radio. I'll also go on to describe the audio quality of the set in a moment, but in short the sound quality IS very good - none of the online audio I have listen to has been of a poor quality - so patchy streams...
Summary: This is an excellent product. I brought it yesterday and set it up very quickly. The WIFI set up is simple. The build quality, the design and the sound quality is great. Navigating through FM, DAB, live internet radio, listen again services and podcasts is simple and intuitive especially when you have organised your favourites on thelounge.com. Currently that website is the product's weakness but it is very new and I am sure that it will improve.
