Pure Evoke-1S Luxury Portable DAB/FM Radio: Let's Face The Music!!
27 October 2013
Summary: I love music and I would always choose to have the radio on instead of the television. Radio has changed a lot since I was little and when digital radio was created, I jumped on the band wagon as soon as I could with my beloved PURE Evoke 1s Digital Radio. About the product The product is a digital and FM radio which allows you to enjoy listening to your favourite radio stations with crispness and clarity.
Pros: Plays crystal clear music and it looks good
Cons: The wire on mine has become damaged over the years
Excerpt: "I bought this for my Dad purely because he hates technology but loves the radio, so I thought I would upgrade him a little for his birthday, I am so glad I did because he has ranted and raved about this ever since and to be honest he has a fair point, it is a nice piece of kit when it comes to radio's. My first reaction was WOW this looks pretty cool and retro all at the same time, a retro look with the latest technology, a good combination. The ...
Summary: I got this to replace the Chronos as I was looking for a dab radio with alarm that had a full telescopic aerial on it. This radio appears to be getting a better signal compared to the Pure One and the Chronos. The item comes in a nicely presented box with instructions which weirdly referred to the Evoke 2, but the menu system is the same. Nice wood finish, fantastic display and good channel info. No problems so far.
Summary: I loved the look of this radio but unfortunately the delivery company that Amazon used threw the package over a 7 foot gate and smashed it to pieces. I returned the pieces for a refund so I don't know how good it sounds. Shame.
Summary: Needed a replacement for a DAB radio and opted for the PURE Evoke knowing its reputation as a quality product. The finish of the case , the sound and the ease of selecting channels doesn't disappoint . Only slight thing I would change if I had designed it is the on-off button . Green would have been aesthetically better than blue , and it is awkwardly situated.
Summary: After breaking my TV and waiting for it to be repaired, I decided I needed a little radio. I really liked the style of the Roberts Retro ones, but couldn't justify the price and was worried that they were more 'style over substance'. This little beauty was recommended to me by a gentleman in John Lewis, who confirmed my suspicions about the Roberts ones. He said that the sound quality on this was decent and that it was better value for money than most radios.
Pros: Comfact, stylish
Cons: Have to buy their special battery pack to make it portable
Summary: Only four stars for this, as I had previously owned a different model of Pure radio. This is good, but not as easy to quickly change settings. Being Marshall and going up to eleven is appealing, but it's just a radio. However, it is a DAB radio and everything else is history.
UPDATED:Replacement works fine. Pricey but extremely good!

Summary: At about £100 a unit, you'd hope its perfect. Unfortunately, the display doesn't work on this one. 1st time using it too! So now I have all the hassle of replacement. I hope Amazon are good at this sort of thing... Rather disappointing so far.. UPDATE: Amazon collected the defective one. And speedily sent out the replacement. Pure radios aren't cheap. But the styling is great. The product is great. Rather expensive but I'm extremely happy with it.
