Summary: I bought this to replace an older InTempo DAB radio in the kitchen because the volume was too low before distortion to overcome the hob fan, electric kettle and other sundry noises. The Elan II has plenty of volume and does not distort: it is simply an excellent DAB radio.. Very good sound quality and reception. I live in West Devon where the signal is at best weak.
Summary: This radio looks superb, well constructed, solid and classy looking, and the matt black and silver / chrome go well together. There are some reviews that criticise the recessed buttons and their positions, but I find them very functional and intuitive. It's early days but the reception on DAB is good and the sound quality through the two 3" speakers is excellent, helped somewhat by the very useful bass & treble controls.
Summary: If I wanted another medium size dab radio I would still buy this one but there are a few niggles: people have commented that it is bass heavy and i would agree with that. To some extent one can compensate using the bass/treble settings. If you use the aux input e.g. with an mp3 player then this is not available - you have to set the equalizer on the mp3 player.
Summary: Disappointed , the sound was distorted this was not caused by weak reception(my area has good DAB reception) I was sure it was caused by either loose /securing of the speaker baffle the cause, however I liked the design and features and decided to have an exchange .
