Summary: Here are the four reasons I'm getting rid of my new Midland WR120 Weather Radio: 1. I started reading the Owner's Manual and a yellow sheet of paper fluttered out, which said "Important Low Reception Safety Feature.
The alert is screaming loud -- heck my neighbors can probably here it and I live in a house with a good sized yard

Summary: I'm not really sure yet how to rate this, and will have to update this once I get a response back from Midland. However, here are my initial impressions and issues that will likely lead to me returning this product. 1. A tornado warning is NOT a listed event on this product.
Summary: Had no problem with the programming. Despite all troubleshooting and positive test results, it never issued an audible warning. The lights came on, the weather button gave the information, but without the alert tone, it was worthless. Return wasn't worth the hassle.
Summary: I've had this weather radio for several months and couldn't rate it earlier since I hadn't used it and didn't really know how it worked. The one feature I don't really care about is the alarm clock feature. I mostly wanted a weather radio that is only a weather radio. I got it all set up.
Works as advertised-I'm pleased & highly recommend it to others! A++

Summary: I live in Tornado alley in Mississippi, which made this a logical purchase. It works as advertised, which is what I wanted, but instructions on specific operations are sketchy and limited. Delivery was prompt. It can be quite loud, but you can adjust the volume.
Summary: I have owned a weather radio since 1974, back when they were considered a luxury. Living in rural areas in Southeast Lower Michigan that lack adequate outdoor siren coverage, you need to find an alternate means of receiving weather warnings day or night.
Will only know how well it works during an emergency

Excerpt: This item will play the current weather report, but its value is really for emergencies. After a week, the unit turned on during a sunny day; I wondered why, but it apparently is a regular test.
Pros: This item will play the current weather report, but its value is really for emergencies. After a week, the unit turned on during a sunny day; I wondered why, but it apparently is a regular test.
Cons: The unit will send an alert if there's an emergency within my county. I had hoped that the emergency broadcasts were more localized. Check with NOAA to see how localized the warnings are provided for your area.
Excerpt: Easy set up. I use this at home, plus you can add 3 2A batteries in case of power outage or take it with you on a camping trip. It seems to be good quality. I like the big button for weather forecasts which goes on and on if you don't shut it off.
Pros: Clear Instructions, Effective, Simple To Use
